QUOTE(jsc_tidus @ Sep 15 2010, 12:48 PM) i used current, then the battery level not reduced. then i use battery, the level reduced like normal-baterry-use, and when i put the charger back on, its not charging.. When it comes to something like this where the issue might be a connection internally i'll normally call Dell TECH. Else maybe a bios update might help... |

QUOTE(JustinLFJ @ Sep 15 2010, 01:11 PM) Its on.. Saw this unit in LowYatt last year. I did think it has a pretty awesome looking case. Alienware's is pretty streamline but with lotsa hidden stuff around the case and not to mention the changing colours. This one just screams at you. But after using a couple of ACER products i'm never going back...![]() ![]() Wonder when will Acer release their Predator laptop ( if they plan to ) But in the movies, predator beats alien |

Wah... how u guys broke ur keys and the spacebar? Accidently or due to heavy gaming. Hope you guys can share the info with us as to avoid it happening to us. I thought the keys would be more hardy than to just break while being used..... plus I spent extra on 3 years COmplete cover in the hope of this being covered...OMG!

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Sep 15 2010, 07:41 PM) these 2 only apply to the m17x rite? as i rmb...the m15x have a magnesium frame and plastic trim instead of aluminium From the link you posted Im trying to figure out which part is meant as the trim for the M15x which is plastic. I have a M15x and the palmrest area is the only part I think is plastic, elsewhere its mostly magnesium... Which is why its heavy.....and the palmrest feels the same as the M17x which is why I am not sure where this mentioned Trim area is....? bout the heat sink....i believe both are quite on par since the asus is using a similar cooling set up QUOTE(awyongcarl @ Sep 15 2010, 07:51 PM) Actually something caught my mind, Aluminium vs Magnesium. lol I think when it comes to heat Alluminium is better than Mag. But mag is not as soft as Aluminum IIRC. Your EOS 1D is Mag iirc...which is the choice material for durability Magnesium is defo better than Aluminium in terms of toughness..I'm not so sure about heat dissipation though. (At the very least, I don't see any pro grade DSLR's frame being made of aluminum) Where did you guys got the information about the material anyway? Some reference would be nice. |

I still need the DVD Drive even if I don't use it everyday for installation of Original Software and Games. If I get all pirated stuff downloaded then all I need is the internet of course. How redundant it may seem the drive still has its uses.... we can't overlook it yet.

QUOTE(putochip123 @ Sep 19 2010, 01:10 AM) Yes I heard that Roccat Kave is better in terms of price, as well as performance. But the Roccat will fully be utilized if we plug in all the jacks. Seeing so many, is there sufficient jacks in the M15x? |

QUOTE(alvinkhorfire @ Oct 7 2010, 11:12 AM) I have some questions regarding M15x. Pardon my lack of experience here. I hope to gain some advice from experts like you all. 1) Keyboard protector I got was a silicone one costing no more than RM15. You can find lots of it at lowyatt, getting the size right is up to you and your estimation/measurements. Cooling pad I'm still using a Coolermaster Infinite which has 4 redundant USB2.0 at the back(Lack of power due to high speed fan) which should be around RM90+. You can also look for a newer Coolermaster model whereby the fans are moveable and comes with 3 fans or of course if you have the extra cash you can splurge out on a ZALMAN NC2000 or newer model. No screen protector.1. Do most of M15x owners purchase keyboard protector, cooling pad and screen protector to be used with their laptop? I want to know the brand and price of these products with reasonable quality and price. 2. If laptop is plugged to a power source, is it advisable to remove the battery pack from the laptop? I know most people will do this, but the User Manual advises against this practice. 3. There is a transparent plastic sheet taped onto the laptop screen (I do not mean the plastic bag that originally wraps all around the screen). Can I just leave it as it is and treat it as screen protector? Or, should I remove it to prevent the screen from overheating? 4. Inside the smaller box containing the DVDs, mousepad, power adapter and so on, there is an Alienware cap. Under that cap is an Alienware avatar that sticks to a sticker. What is the use of this item? 5. What is WinRE software? Thank you very much for your advice. 2) well if you unplug it, drained the batt to critical level and store it in a cool (27c or lower) compartment you are actually preserving if not only prolonging its life. However the risk as to what Eugene91 has said it there and you could accidently lose power and you notebook will be forced off losing info and files if not damaging your Mobo. 3) I tool that out as I felt it was distracting... 4) That Alienware avatar which is 3M Branded is just a simple sticker. I'm using the cap and the Mousepad only. 5) WinRE? I have yet to fully explore the DVds that came with mine (2 dvds) but it sounds like a backup drivers disc if not windows only. |

QUOTE(Mr.Docter @ Oct 7 2010, 05:34 PM) Julchin, I think modding a bit far fetched for me this time. If the new 17" is power packed I'll consider getting an M17xsince we already reaches Q4 2010, why don't you relax for a a minutes while waiting Q1 2011? i know you are eager to modding your M15x, again and yeah, i also didn't hear any rumors about GTX400M Series into Alienware, yet. who knows, Dell Alienware always good in making surprise for their fan mind sharing your details of Alienware? |

Sager is not really into looks. Its more for performance. No lights and logos here and there but big and bulky body with lotsa muscle inside.

Not interested in skinning what is already beautiful to me. I feel the sleek look is whats going for Alienware though I'm sure they are others that take a different view.
