for the M15x the max graphically I know is the ATI 5870 but will take some effort for doing it and acquiring the card.

I'm not sure how well it will work as the salesperson told me I'd need a few jacks (2/3colours I think) to make full use of the KAVE.

M15x also only has 3. 2 Earphones and I mic. Salesperson told me I would need the Full Fledge Soundcard jacks to use the Kave and told me if I didn't it would be a waste...

I believe I have experienced this a few times before. If i am not mistaken it has something to do with the power supply. Are you running with a heavy power requirement notebook cooler plug'ed in when you started you M15x?

The scenario I have experienced before is one whereby my notebook cooler (CM Infinite 4USB PortHub) is connected and windows starts as usual but no ping/chime sound when windows starts. All games will perform to 25% of its normal speed/ fps or even lower and some applications won't start. Normally when It comes to this I reboot the notebook and unplug my Cooler and it will work. I have also come across a couple of occasions whereby I had to restart a couple of times before its rectified and noticed that whenever the notebook cooler is plug in was the time this lag incident will happen and never when the cooler was unplug. So I concluded that the cooler must be messing with the power during startup which underclocks the proc or something. You can also try restarting and removing battery and pressing the POWER BUTTON for 15sec before putting it all back again and restarting. I haven't installed new BIOS but I think that should rectify this issue though I am not experiencing this problem even remotely often at the moment.

Yup its called POWER DRAIN. I thought I'd explain it in detail . Very handy indeed. Its like reseting the system whilst its off and a another way to let it start afresh in case somethings amiss inside.... luckily this power issue I had is not frequent. I was beginning to fear the mobo is giving problems again. Temps been increasing for my gaming, got a Cooler Master U3 to see if the option to customise the positioning of the fans can help bring down the temps compared to my previous CM Infinite.... Else I'll have to do the tedious job of re-applying the thermal paste....

When idle 50-60c is normal. I get 62c sometimes when just surfing. When gaming it can get really hot. Depending on the game, on the GTX 260M I have recorded 92c which was the max. ATI 5870 have currently reached a new max of 85c playing SINGULARITY on max settings. Maybe its time to re-apply my thermal paste or reposition my Cooler's fans....

Upgradable to a certain degree. Power consumption is capped by the motherboard else we can upgrade to GTX 4** Cards which are power hungry.... :/

P:S I agree with Doc regarding the RM11k pricing for the M17x, as back then even the standard M15x specs were going for RM6599 without the GTX 260M which would have made it RM6999. Throw in a proc upgrade, Ram upgrade from 4-6 and its 9k already.... huff!
Lower prices though are good for us so Ain't complaining... xP

Well we still have to wait for the results of the card and the feedback. I checked that the GTX 460M, GTX 470M, GTX 260M and the ATI 5870 uses the same amount of power at 72-75watts with the 470,5870 and 260M using 75Watts. So if the 470M comes in the MXM 3.0 slot size then we might even see that coming to the M15x. Next up will be news for the M17x owners

p:s If I get this GTX 4** Card I'll have 3 GPUs for my 1 M15x... jeez....

Best Price i got from lowyatt today was RM460 for the momentus xt 500gb ......

The RM460 price I got was from Low Yatt Plaza @Cycom shop....

I didn't know they still do that...

But there isn't an option for the M15x so its ATI for now for me. Maximum the M15x can take would be the GTX 470M. And now that Nvidia has leaked news of their GTX 580, I wonder what bodes for us in the coming year with regards to GTX 5**M cards.....
