ok then which brand is better? kingston?
thanks
for normal use, any rams would be ok... the brand doesn't matter much...
if u overclock, well back when i overclock my desktop, ram chips are much more important than the brand itself... the better the chips the better result u can get on overclocking...
lower timing and higher speed is a good ram... but since laptop rams aren't specifically overclockable, so this theory doesn't apply for laptop much...
heck u can put up a 1600mhz ddr3 ram on a laptop but it doesn't mean it will run @ 1600mhz...
for example, m11x rams are rated 1333mhz but its not running @ 1333mhz, its downclocked to 800mhz based on the processor bus speed....
so, on a laptop, any brand would do... the speed will be downclocked anyways depends on the type of processor ur laptop has....
ohh, and do run a memtest after u install the new ram to check whether its ok or not...
if only alienware BIOS has the capability to OC like desktop, it would be much more fun playing around with the timings, voltage, bus speed.... plus, much more faster to kill ur laptop... hehehehehehehe.... i miss my desktop... T_T
