QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:12 PM) Install many application. Install 10~14 application on N97 = out of memory. Install 20+ application on SGS, no problem encounter. LOL Means, bigger memory, the better. Internal memory issit? This post has been edited by andrekua: Sep 20 2010, 02:15 PM

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:16 PM) If the phone memory is huge say 4gb~5gb, it won't have memory shortage. But since phone memory is used for core application, then 3rd part application should be install in either internal memory or external memory. Oh ya... Internal memory, LOL... Phone vs Internal... But since you already know the problem liao, its hardware limitation, why still sad?

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:21 PM) I'm disappointed with previous N97, really frustrated with out of memory problem. But very pleased that N900 doesn't have that problem. So I think it's Symbian problem that won't allow user to install either internal or external memory. Actually, under what situation did you encounter them? I did tried out an experiment. When sending a file which is much bigger than the phone memory via bluetooth, it will encounter error. I think this problem is worst on 7610 where the phone memory is around 10MB++. The ROM was meant only for phone operation storage to store stuffs like SMSes, MMSes, Contact List instead of being for Application.

QUOTE(sklchan @ Sep 20 2010, 02:24 PM) it's funny how the device memory distribute, just wonder why they not just treat the 16Gb as phone memory... 512Mb ROM => Z: 256Mb RAM => no need to show lah (sakit hati saja when keep seeing it getting low) 16Gb => C: since it's already internally connected.... To reduce the seek time when performing phone related operation, perhaps?

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:30 PM) When installing an application So I really think it's Symbian problem, not the hardware. :\ Well, depends. Lets just say that your phone memory left 10MB for example. When you try to install SIS, it will still have to extract those file and then copy them to the installation destination. Now if Symbian extract those files into the ROM before copying them to the Internal Storage, and if it happened to exceed the phone memory (for example 10MB as we speak now), yeah, it would give you a out of memory error. Similar to the bluetooth file sending error that I tried out.

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:35 PM) Erm... RAM has a big roll in it and so the memory. About the seek time, I really don't know but think it doesn't show any BIG difference anyway. Hahahaha... You really reply to him/her aaa... hahahaha Someone who always claimed that cant read my post...

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:37 PM) But for most, I think it's really Symbian problem for not being so smart Well, thats why Nokia already have A2SD long long ago.. user problem perhaps? Cos I dont think Nokia gives any training or explanation on how to use it properly. Rather than being stuck on ROM only on Eclair...

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:41 PM) From every Nokia phone I used, the most problem is N97. Seems A2SD didn't really worked on N97, so it's Symbian problem. Huh?? So, issit your phone memory left very little when installing app that gives you the out of memory error? or just having your RAM fully occupied to perform the installation?

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:46 PM) Can't recall, but I think it's when installing an app. You never confirm the exact problem for that? Should check RAM level to verify the source of the error.

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 02:49 PM) Well, I dump N97 a long time ago. QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Sep 20 2010, 04:18 PM) I'm still in contract with Maxis coz of SGS's plan. Can I go for iphone 4 without another adding another contract? Just curious. Yes, Maxis call it RECONTRACT. For example, your contract left 6months, so now you can SAMBUNG KONTRAK, 6months + 12months = 18months bound. Very desperate to sell it seem. http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/iphone4/contract.aspBTW, thinking of selling your SGS to me cheaply liao issit? 1.4k This post has been edited by andrekua: Sep 20 2010, 04:22 PM

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 20 2010, 04:26 PM) Previous Digi plan for 3GS have this 2+1year contract. I'm not sure what it means. The deal seems good, I think RM88 for 2+1 year contract, the phone is stated as FREE. Then my friend go and ask and found out, the first 2 year is RM88. The 3rd year is not RM88, you have to pay for the phone installment in the 3rd year. Seems like senang dahulu, SYOK later. Is it true? Anybody know? Wrong info passed to you lor... The plan is still RM88 for 2 years + one Iphone. However, the repayment was stretch over 3 years. So you are actually paying the phone + 2years of services for 3 years. Thats why 3rd years onwards you need to pay more cos still need to pay installment + RM88 (if you still choose to stay with Digi).
