QUOTE(silentser @ Jan 11 2011, 11:21 PM) thx mate, i dare not to touch anything including rootin (cause mine defy is 2.51, need a bit workaround to root), until there is an ASIA firmware out in the open will not do anything drastic, cause if you need to send for warranty, you need that firmwackare pack. mine increment, decrement both 1% P/S: not my defy, so dont add me to the list EDIT: battery gauge still show 10% increment, i want 1% increment |

just flashed blurless froyobeta1 .. everything except camera works smoothly. 2 things i dont like is the market only able to download apps if the defy is on wifi and the signal bar stimes grey out (no green color) eventhough actually the signal is strong and no problem with reception..

since we're all on 2.5.1, we cant flash to any .sbf straight away. the only way to get other rom on our defy is by using nandroid backup.
1) root and get cwm mod intro defy first by using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889133 2) wipe cache and data 3) use this nandroid backup of froyo 2.2 http://www.multiupload.com/QV2WICWW1R 4) flash defy_2.2_boot_only sbf via rsd lite 4.9 http://pubftp.goapk.com/1026/defy_2.2_boot_only.zip 5) DO NOT wipe. just reboot. done. i guess it shouldnt be a prob to root 2.1 also..
but u still need to use the other method to have custom recovery, as v2.5.1 cant flash rom or .sbf directly.. |

QUOTE(Hico @ Jan 16 2011, 01:24 PM) Nice. Interested with this device. May I know is the package come with any memory card? How is the battery life? mine only comes with 2GB and I believe by standard they all come with 2gb memory card.. for me it doesnt matter as I have my own 16gb memory card.battery life is way better than my desire HD.. i believe this device can last 1 and half day with heavy usage. QUOTE(Hico @ Jan 16 2011, 01:43 PM) irenic, do you recommended this device over dhd? Apart from 2.2, any more pro and con?want to consider it since it is cheaper and I got tab. hmm it's not fair to compare defy against dhd as they are in different price range.. well let just i list down the advantages dhd over defy and vice versa.. imho...DHD pros: - bigger screen, better for web surfing, vids playback - htc sense & htc social network integration - integrated effects setting in camera mode - overall, it feels smoother - usb port at bottom >> car dock friendly - lots of developers, best 3rd party support Defy pros: - i believe gaming is better on defy (based on my experience with my fav android game, asphalt5) - low profile frame > looks small eventhough has 3.7" screen - usb port at the side >> desk dock friendly - sharp text - smooth - rugged look and water proof - fits pocket easily during outdoor / recreational activities. - better battery life - cheaper. dhd cons: - poor screen - the thickness. for 4.3" screen size, it should be thinner. somehow i feel my 5" dell streak is easier to carry than this one. defy cons: - bootloader locked!!!! - doesnt support real custom recovery yet. - usb port at the side makes it hard for left handed like me to type text with one hand both are good devices. if u always carry ur tab around, maybe u dont need another big screen device.. or maybe u need one smaller, low profile device with great features and specs. but i am not going to recommend one over another~ just to share defy capability at 1Ghz.. ![]() This post has been edited by irenic: Jan 16 2011, 02:28 PM |
