it is very ironical when i can get credit card from spore banks in spore as a foreigner but none in msia as a citizen...

i do understand the banks need to evaluate the applicants financial stability before issuing one.

my bro earning s$6k per mth has problems applying too... let alone me earning a pay <s$4k

that stanchart guy said he will use my spore credit report to apply one for me... he said stanchart can try this with their spore counterparts for getting credit risk info report... hopefully it will be approved this round

i got my msia ccris report... nothing written... so i am debt free in msia...

there is one thing which i dun understand... i rmb back in 2006 when i was still earning a meager pay... i applied for a hire purchase loan of rm 50k... it was approved within a day without question asked... no call or whatsoever...

50k loan vs 5-10k card limit (which is what i need though) blink.gif
approved vs not approved doh.gif

Hi, I'm also working in SG with a steady income (ard 60k p.a)...
Was trying to apply for OCBC Titanium card.
Will it be difficult to get approved as this is my first card? Failed for HSBC....
Will submit my latest 3 mth bank statement + SG income tax form, is it sufficient?

that credit card fellow tried another method which is to get the credit report from singapore... yet the application was still unsuccessful...

i told him to use fd-lien in the first place but he was so stubborn that believing it would be successful... let him be then...

by the way bro phantom06, your 60k pa is sgd or myr?

I've checked with some of friends in the banking industry & they've advised me that foreign income earners are usually required to have higher income like more than RM10K or so for a fast processing. Apart from that some may also quiz you as to why you need a Malaysian bank issued card when you work in SG etc. BTW, sorry for the delayed response.

i believe you are right... they took my singapore credit report too for the application but was rejected too due to the fact that i only have car loan in spore... it would have been successful i had a housing loan in sg (but i dun hv that kind of money... lol...)

so they r now processing it with the fd-lien application... i pledged 5k fd for that and i hope it will be successful this time...

Last time I applied with OCBC malaysia and got approved. Had no luck with Maybank either. Perhaps you can try with SG banks with MY operations?

will it be harder to get approved?

i tried applying a few, namely pbb,  stanchart, and citibank, all of them rejected my applications...

my pay has hit the min. requirement of the card (let's not talk about the conversion rate... 1:1 only...)

i wonder why... i only had a car loan before in msia which i aldy settled last year...

im holding cc from spore banks and servicing a car loan in singapore but i believe this doesnt help as msia banks dun share with spore banks the same pool of credit risk information like what bank negara is providing...

that could be the reason as you have good ccris report while mine is totally clean as i do not hold any loans in msia... i believe with my first card approved it will be easier in the future for other card applications...
btw... the process of msia banks approving mine is quite strict.. always got calls to verify... i didnt hv such issues with spore banks cc... all approved without questions asked...
