will it be harder to get approved?

i tried applying a few, namely pbb, stanchart, and citibank, all of them rejected my applications...

my pay has hit the min. requirement of the card (let's not talk about the conversion rate... 1:1 only...)

i wonder why... i only had a car loan before in msia which i aldy settled last year...

im holding cc from spore banks and servicing a car loan in singapore but i believe this doesnt help as msia banks dun share with spore banks the same pool of credit risk information like what bank negara is providing...

Hi, i worked in a bank tho. well this is compliance so well normally, foreigners in Singapore won't get credit cards approved due to risk. if u need a cc. get a secured card where u have to open a FD there.

bro, your case same like mine 6 years ago, tried ambank, uob n hsbc all reject. finally Maybank accept me rclxm9.gif . but the credit limit they follow your SG salary, not converting to RM first. If salary SGD3K then limit is RM6K only, not RM14K sad.gif (SGD3K ~ RM 7.2K)

after i get mine, I reapply other banks again and ALL APPROVED. Before the GST (RM50) I got 4, but now reduce to one.

maybe you can give maybank a try thumbup.gif

Sorry for not stating clearly.
When I asked if he pays tax, I actually wanted to know if he has proof of income in Malaysia. I know his SGD salary is not taxable in Malaysia.

I asked this question a few weeks back.
You need to pay RM50 GST once the card is approved, regardless of activation status.

Banks or bank employees do not want the hassle to evaluate risk factors of cc applicants without Malaysia derived income

Which bank was that? To my understanding, a secured credit card is almost equals to a debit card with the exception of functions, so would not normally be rejected unless you have adverse CRIS, CTOS or BMC records etc.

Alternatively, maybe all you did was placed an FD and then applied for a card? Then its not the right/proper process. You will need to placed the FD and after that used that FD to be pledged to support your card application.

u need to show the bank that u got steady income.
use ur bank statement (e.g. every month end u get rm10k deposit)
to supplement ur application.

From what I have heard from internal sources in Maybank credit processing, you ought to have atleast 5K - 10K income in salary from SG to be able to apply for a credit card in Maybank. Even so would only bring low credit limit of RM 10K or so.
