is launcher pro good?
i'm worrying about performance and battery consumption. considering buying it.

It's been great for me. Performance is snappier than touchwiz (default launcher) and battery consumption feels no different. It now has Twitter and Facebook widgets which are pretty useful for me.

I got mine for RM2599 from Maxis, as I am on Digi. It was worth it when there were no AP units available. What is your concern? Price or Maxis?

I wanted something more than a phone, hence why I chose the SGS.

Ya, perli a bit la. tongue.gif

Seriously, though, iPhone4 is an excellent example of an almost perfect matching of OS and device (both from Apple ma). So for users who want a superb smartphone without having to fool/mess around with settings and tweaks and other techie 'headaches', go for the iPhone4.

I'm a tech-freak so the SGS give me ample opportunities to 'fcuk' around with the OS and phone. My first ever Android phone, this SGS, and it's been a lot of fun and pain so far.. biggrin.gif

Generally, when someone asks me, 'hi there, can you advise me which is better, iPhone4 or XXX', I will gladly tell them to go for the iPhone4..

I will say the same. Saves me the trouble later, in case their phone become FUBAR. Due to general lack of knowledge and lazy to read FAQs

Ya lo.. Especially those friends who break down in tears when I tell them that rooting is necessary for some of the more 'advanced' features (e.g. full backup)..

Surprisingly, in my experience, the SGS is really really hard to brick.. Have jumped firmwares so many times, done update.zip recovery mode upgrades countless times.. still going strong!

Rooting opened up a whole new world for me, really. I rooted my phone within a week of getting it, after doing research online (it was my first Android phone after all).

None taken. Rooting is a bit like smoking.. Once you start, it's hard to go back.. tongue.gif

hi guys, im planning to buy the galaxy s...however there are few concerns of mine that i need to ask the galaxy users here.

(1)so far hows the user experience, is it damn worth to buy this phone for its price?

(2) heard lot of pplz claim that samsung product usually dont last long, any feedback on galaxy s so far?

(3) also heard that the battery could easily drain, true?
p/s: apologize for these questions, they're only what I "heard" from others and just want to clarify with the users here smile.gif
*
(1) depends on the price

(2) I've only had my SGS for a few months. Maybe you can check back in a year or two.

(3) Yes, if like me, you're always connected to 3G/HSDPA doing push email, facebook, twitter etc, the batt can barely last 1 day. Have to charge every night.

I ask the counter lady, and she says no. That is what i am wondering how you guys get your SGS.

I bought my SGS from Maxis without contract at RM2599 a couple of months back. Am a Digi Smart Plan user so I decided to spend more money instead of changing to a Maxis Stupid Plan user.. tongue.gif

It's clearly stated on Maxis' faq for its android phones that you can buy the phones outright at their respective full RRP prices.

15mins to go, downloading from megaupload. Well, will check back to the forums in the morning to decide if this is worth flashing to..

Thanks for the heads up, lOrDjAbU.
