what's the latest timeframe from registration to getting a call for installation? still around a week or even more now?

i registered online, hopefully they'd get to my application faster

it depends on area I thinks.
I registered online, 1 day later conformation, 3 days later set installation date, 1 week later come install at my house.
*

the confirmation stage comes in the form of a phone call or email?

i suppose installation in landed areas is slower than high rise (with ready infrastructure) is it? or the other way around?

I applied online via Maxis website, follow-up with call to maxis 123 after 1Day, email& call received from maxis Home agent requesting for relevant documents and IC copy, sent back after 1day.

Waited for almost 3-4days before installation team called up (using numbers 03-23005058), given option for weekends and weekdays, hence opted for weekdays which are faster, 18June 2012, 9.30am.

Maxis Home team call up again for re-confirmation 2 times in the last 1 week to re-confirm time and day (using number 03-23000172 & 03-23000178).

All in all , I will be getting my maxis fiber in 2 weeks time, my area is Bukit OUG, hope that helps. Quite efficient I would say !!

Oh another thing I found out accidentally, you can check in the UNIFI coverage website for maxis application status..(sort-of) ! At least I know my application has gone in and waiting for installation.. try it out !!

https://occ.unifi.my/HSBBCustomerPortal/HSB...e_checkcoverage

thanks for the info! i guess the keyword here is 'followup' cool2.gif

and i guess installations etc hasn't really been bogged down even though presumably they're getting more and more registrations each day

the customer care rep was really helpful though

ok, so after lunchtime, off i went to maxis centre klcc to register, again.. it was pretty straightforward, everything was done in 10 minutes or so, and the guy told me the technicians will be in touch with me in about a week's time...

while i was driving out of klcc, suddenly got a call from 03 23005050. "wow cepatnye! takkan nak install dah?" haha.. turned out the call was from another sales rep, pertaining to my earlier online registration last friday (which didn't show up in the system this morning), so i thanked him and told him i had walked in anyway..

so to be fair to them in my case, their response time isn't that bad at all...

btw, the guy that i registered with at klcc told me that TODAY is the LAST DAY of the rm118 promotion? anybody can confirm this? sounds like bs though...

dear all, how much does it cost for extra internal cabling after the 1st 15 meters?

i've read the non-standard installation pdf but that seems to involve something extra like underground or over the ceiling cables. i'd just like to know the price for normal extension.

sorry if this has been asked before. too lazy to browse smile.gif

Install one thing also can be so frustrating. 9.30 AM appointment, until 3PM no where to be done and canceled it off due to absense of contractor from TM. Come on Maxis, you can manage this better? You can say that it is TM's fault as they did not send in a contractor / the contractor forgot / late / etc, but that's not my concern. You rent equipments from TM, you sort out installation / contractors issue with TM. All I need to understand is that I am subscribing to Maxis, not TM.

Sorry for my rant, here's the long story if anyone is interested. doh.gif vmad.gif

P/S: I clearly know that Maxis did send their staff, and +1 point is that they are ON time. But they should manage external contractors with TM even better, I cancelled and put off everything today just to wait for the installation. Now I have to free up another day when they "decided" the next installation date. doh.gif

It's still Maxis' fault to me. They are the ones responsible to drag the TM contractors lazy asses to your home. As if they can't make a phone call to TM to send someone else or something...

someone here mentioned weak wifi singal with the thomson router... how about yours?

you're in landed property or high rise building?
*
bro, so all this while you weren't able to go online with the ipad on streamyx? hmm.gif

haha sorry am just picking on u.. your questions are quite peculiar as if you are telling people not to subscribe to maxis instead (which is fine by me, less subscribers = more bandwidth)..

oohh, now i see what you're getting at..... icon_idea.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Speedtest to local servers (P1, Yes, UMobile) seems ok already.
But if outside of Malaysia, its still bad.
Speedtest to Singapore still no improvement even though its our neighbor oni

EDIT: Maxis also just called and say that TM is doing some work on the fiber network until end of this month
*
if tm is maintaining the network, how come unifi subscribers report good ping time?

ping time(respone time from 1 end to another end), this is important for those who play online game, but normal browsing or download won't slow because of slow ping time, but online game will lag because of high ping time, more lower is better...
*
ping would be important to me for my dreambox at home hehe..

finally got the call after registering on Monday. Installation 11 July 2012 at 230 pm. Fingers crossed for no f**k-ups cool2.gif I guess the 230 pm takes into account tm contractors waking up late...

I don't play any online games, but I'd still expect Maxis to be able to deliver good ping times considering it is after all a fiber network. If latency is as bad as my U Mobile I'd might as well stick to that, pay rm50 less a month and continue downloading torrents at the office biggrin.gif

Finally got a call from Maxis after a long frustrating week. Scheduled appointment to be next week, but no promises are made whether if the same problem will arise again doh.gif
*
It's kinda disappointing to hear as if the maxis guys don't have any kind of authority over the tm guys/always at their mercy.. Later on should there be any technical problems with the network, then we'll keep on getting "sorry we can't really do anything, the problem has been reported to TM"
