bro, its normal if you ping to server 8000 miles away...and getting 200ms ping is considered ok..correct me if im wrong....

Unless you the ping to server located in SEA, and you got 200++, then its bad

IMHO..lah.. maybe im; wrong

I don't think we can get less than 200ms ping to US server due to distance. Light needs time to travel and it's definitely not at speed of light c in fiber optic cables (not vacuum).

If can get less than 300ms is considered very good already for USA servers.

So does Maxis Fiber applies use VDSL  for high rise condo?

So the ping is it high?
*
I wanted to ask this question also.

My condo Unifi used to be on VDSL interleaved mode, so the latency to local servers is about 25-29ms. But I noticed nowadays, the latency has been reduced to 11-13ms. I think TM Unifi has switched it to VDSL fast mode recently.

The question here is, is Maxis going to deploy VDSL interleave or fast mode?

Agreed.
200ms is quiet decent for us sever compared to streamyx 300ms+

200ms is definitely a good ping for WoW and Diablo 3 players.

Can anyone give feedback regarding online game performance with Maxis fibre?
*
Yea I want to know also.

WoW and Diablo 3 - can someone post latency to those servers?

And PS3 servers - the router compatible or not? Private IP address can access PSN or not??

brother, u live in high rise building, how is the ping and jitter compare to pure fiber line? or is it worst than slowmix?

this is what i concern, since some say their is no different between them, i just doubt about it...

It depends on the VDSL mode.

During the earlier days of UNIFI, the high rise building using VDSL interleaved mode. I get about 25-29ms of ping which was actually higher than streamyx 15ms.

But I notice since 1 year ago, Unifi switched to VDSL fast mode. I get about 9ms - 12ms. For fiber you can get about 2-3ms.

So for Maxis it depends whether they enable VDSL fast mode. If you are getting about 25ms , it's most likely on VDSL interleaved mode.

It does not make a lot of difference if you are watching youtube or facebook, but it does matter when you play online game that needs fast response time.
