if you live in landed house, so no need using telephone port, they will pull a fiber into your house, just decide where(location) you want to install your fiber.

I know there are a lots of people here have bad experience in playing games, may I know what is the problem? Why is it so worst than a 1MB streamyx?
*
the problems is not the bandwidth problems, but the ping time(response time between your pc and the game server), more lower is more better, even streamyx bandwidth is not high as fiber, but the ping time is much lower than maxis fiber, and online game actually no need a big bandwidth to play, but ping time is important, if high ping time, you will see lag even stop at there...

ps: 1 thing to add, fiber should not have high ping time, so there must be something wrong with the isp...

but i just want to know how do you key in the number n ic?
is it with 603? or 03? or just the number?
the ic have "-" or not?

that is what i want to know..not where is the website to register  doh.gif  doh.gif
*
so what is your problems? can't register? the voip should be 11 digit, and ic is without any "-" or "/", just straight away "901231143030".

hm...so ill advisedly.. i just want somebody who are experience it.... pll with BF3...
*
so far, most post indicate the online games is not playable or lag with the maxis fiber within this few weeks, some say b4 the promotion, there is no such problems...

since many tested ping to maxis server is very nice, but ping to others server will become very high in ping time, so what does it means?

finished installation at my home today..started at 2.30pm finished at 4.00pm... speedtest result very strange indeed... at my pc show download 9.5Mbps upload 0.5 mbps, but at my laptop and phone show symmetrical 9.5 Mbps (dl and ul)... using wireless perform better ?
*
weird, many said the wifi router got problems, while you say is faster than cable? did you do ping test? mostly dl/ul speed is satisfry, around 9mb++, but ping time is very high(this should not happend into fiber), the ping time even higher than 1mb streamyx...

me too... i guess this is done to make sure you're already in contract even before installing

they know the installation will be done in months time.. so they want to hold on to you

you can't just subscripe to Netflix.... you need a US based VPN to access... take that price into consideration as well

secondly, for FPS gaming, not sure for others but it doesnt work at all for me!!#!#!@ my 512kbps Streamyx had better latency than this
*
you had installed maxis fiber? even worst than 512kbps streamyx? sound terrible!!

you live at landed or highrise? which area?

To show that Maxis can't wait to bill you for the FTTH service.
*
i think they should not call it ftth...because not all type installation is same...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiber_to_the_...k_architectures

i live in highrise, should call fttb, fttc, fttn?

don't think is area specific problems, because ping to maxis server is very good, but others sever very bad, many user can prove it...

Some question about maxis fibre, is tat mean when download torrent it can realli reach almost 10mbps,watch pps, and if i use for gaming it will lag n keep on dc? cause i mostly use for playing diablo3/hon using flying spaghetti monster/ online games/other more.
is that the lag issue or dc will appear?

any my road was in the coverage but din hav my unit no,so is tat possible for me to apply?
*
my scenario same as you, my apartment is in coverage, but my level is not in list, but i get confirmation from maxis guy, i am in coverage, i suspect they the list is not up to date, maybe you can check your coverage in unifi website, maxis is using unifi cable, so if unifi is available in your house or building, thats means you are also in coverage of maxis fiber...

ps: i can see i am in coverage in unifi website.

reading this thread i can safely assume that if your installation is on landed property, it will be a FTTH and your ping to local server will be around 10ms.

if your installation is on a high rise property, it will most probably be a FTTC and your ping to local server will be around 30ms.

speedtest.net test will vary from device to device. so do test using 2 or 3 device for your maxis home fibre service. i don't know what happened to my pc bcoz it is giving me 10Mbps/0.4Mbps (dl/ul) speedtest result. my laptop gives me a symmetric 9.5Mbps (dl/ul), same goes for my android phone (using speedtest.net app)

also i notice the internet connection for wifi connected device do get disrupted (hang, loading take long time etc) after a while. not sure if it is coz by heat issue, or whether you have to reconfigure it so that the wifi channel is not the same as or near your neighbour's wifi. happened to me last night, i had to relocate the channel to use channel 13 becoz few neighbours wifi are in the region of channel 6,7 and 8. after changing to channel 13, everything back to normal for the wifi connected device.

well, some condo or apartment, same as landed configuration, there is a picture can prove it.

condo installation (same configuration as landed house)

if thats the case, good for them...

i afraid not all type highrise will get this benefit, maybe this only applicable for high class condo...if using ftth, in future speed upgrade to 100mbps, no need to change cable...

It's only normal that feedback/comments is from A to Z, will have very satisfied customers and at the same time, customers who are very disgruntled
