well for 10mb connection to drop till 6.8mb there sure are problem.

Nothing wrong with torrent and line. mine downloading 3 seasons of top gear now. total up all 1.2MB/s. time to sleep and watch tomorrow. Life's good with Maxis.

My direct download from MS for Wins 8 ISO getting around 1.15 - 1.25MB/s . I don't use torrent prior to FTTH, just downloaded the software to test... normally the speed around 500KB/s depending on the seeders, but sometime do get up to 1.2MB/s for single torrent download. U can try download net meter 30 days trial, that can give you the Internet bandwidth reading.

Does anybody know if the thomson gateway device provided by maxis can be replaced with a different model?

At night my connection will be very unstable.

for the torrent issue, there's a different between private and public tracker as well... with private tracker, i can easily max out my connection even there's less than 100 seeder comparing with the public tracker i only manage to get around 300kbps-700kbps or even less than 100kbps even with the 5k seeder... so maybe u can test using private tracker...

Try requesting public IP, less restriction. I have IP CCTV, only works after changing to public ip.

the gave me the ####@public.maxis.com.my already. and my ip is now 14.192.xxx.xxx . can anyone confirm that this is the public ip?
