bcoz manufacturers like htc, sony, n motorola r not allowed to use iOS hence they must use de only other alternative, android.
even if android is inferior to iOS (not all but de most important thgs to de normal user), these brands didn't hv any choice.
using android as de base OS, these brands poured their best specs fones, spend a lot of advertising money to promote.
and the results is seen now. dis kenot be avoided.

but will dis trend last long? after normal users find it lacking, especially in user interface, battery life?
unless google manage to hires many ex-apple iOS key staff, i do not expect the expertise of android team to match apple.

and it is not same story like windows and macos.
unlike windows which had no competitors, in de smartphone mkt already have windows mobile, symbian (nokia) and webOS (hp).

for example, htc/sony/moto can easily switch to winmo7 and drop android anytime.
