Hi,today i saw a guy which going to sell his Nikon D90 twin kit lens for RM1800,with used one month and still with warranty..and he is giving 8GB memory card and a bag..will it be?
*
Got ghost. Not possible for D90 TWIN KIT set for RM1.8k, because there's NO twin kit for nikon dslrs.

Let me analyze for u...
1. D90 Body only new price = RM2400-2450 (if 1.8k for BODY only, already considered damn cheap)
2. D90 kit with 18-105mm lens NEW = RM3200-3300. (see, 1.8k is almost half price, and it's only one month old and 8gb card, not possible at all)
3. There's no nikon twin kit.

If he buy himself the lens it's memang not possible to be that cheap.. Just the 55-200mm already cost 900+, the body already 2k+, it's not possible to fetch as low as RM1800 unless he purposely want to rugi more than RM2000.

Find someone who at least know something and COD (NEVER DO POSTAGE WITH THIS) with him. Check is it really a Nikon D90 and nikon lenses. Even if it's 3rd/4th hand equipment it's also damn cheap.

wanna ask, can i use my transition lens cleaner spray on my lens and filter?
*
better not to spray any liquid on lens and filter, especially lens, it will damage the coating on the lens and when you wipe it off, might scratch the front element.

Better use a lenspen to clean. original lenspen around RM25 can be found in garage sales.

hi D90 brothers/sisters,
pls add me. I am a D90 owner as well.

Btw, i have 2 questions. I am using a 18-200mm lens and have problem taking low lighting pics (dim light/night) & moving objects (my little boy, whenever he's moving around)

Any tips/recommendations?

Thanks
HS

You mentioned 18-200mm lens, so it's a F3.5-5.6 lens right. This lens is meant for travel and all rounded lens, not a fast lens, so here's some basic tips about how to shoot low light with these lenses:

1. smaller aperture (lower F number, more light enters the lens)
2. use slower shutter speed (lower speed = brighter but more prone to shakes)
3. Pump ISO (more ISO = brighter, but more noisy).
4. Use flash (pop up flash --> more harsh flash, external flash gun more versatile)

Good combination of the things above will produce good photos even though it's low light.

Hi guys,
thanks much for the tips. Yes, am using F3.5 most of the time during low light as this is the lowest i can go with this lens.
And, yes lower shutter speed always cause more blurring. thts a problem to me as well.
Mostly using ISO 1k++

Btw, any good lens to recommend for good low lighting pic and fast moving objects (for my little boy's pics)

Thanks..

There are many lenses good for low light but depend on your budget and criteria.

Primes have exceptionally good sharpness and large aperture (up to F 1.4) like 85mm 1.4 (RM4xxx) , 50mm 1.4D (RM9xx), 50mm 1.4G (1.8k?), 50mm 1.8(rm380-400). But fixed focal length.

Zooms with large aperture are normally very expensive. Nikon has 17-55mm F2.8 for DX (Rm5k+), 24-70 f2.8 (5.x k -6k?), 70-200mm f2.8 (7k+-).
Tamron also makes nikon mount for f2.8 zooms, e.g. 17-50mm F2.8 VC, 1.8k if not mistaken, but you pay wad u get, it focuses slower and sometimes quality control is not good.

So it boils down to your budget and need. For fast moving objects, it depends on your skill and how you focus the object. And depends on shutter speed too.

Still wonder should i go for nikkor 24-120 or 24-70  hmm.gif

range vs low light, and VR vs non-VR, your call =S
If budget allows I definitely will go over the 24-70 XD

One question here:

I was in indoor doing some shooting, and I used Aperture Priority and just set it to the largest aperture possible (about f/4.5). I had my flash gun on (so I presume the lighting should be sufficient), and somehow the camera just drag the shutter down to around 1/15 second (which is bad when the subject is not standing still and my focal length is at around 50mm!!). Is this normal? Does the camera still "thinks" that the lighting condition is dark enough? Sometimes, in some shots, it caused my images to be slightly overblown because of the slow shutter speed. hmm.gif
*
Is the flashgun really mounted properly on your hot shoes? Sometimes it's loose or the contact cannot detect the flash. Check whether there's a lightning symbol on the top LCD.

If I'm not mistaken minimum shutter speed for flash can be set, but I'm not too sure.

Guys, which lens do you think is the best everyday lens for DX? Under RM3k hmm.gif
*
DX lens ah... If nikon brand, I would say 16-85mm F3.5-5.6. Sharp but expensive, RM2.x K if not mistaken...
If FX, maybe 24-120 F4 VR?

I see. Nice range too. It's the kit for D300s right?
*
As far as I know Malaysia doesn't sell D300s in any kit, overseas might have. Here mostly D300s body only. Personally I have no experience to this lens, just heard from reviews.

Hmm.. seems like it. Nvm.. I really don't know what I did that time. smile.gif

The camera now seems like operating normally. It constantly adjust to about 1/60 - 1/80s
*
Mine always at 1/60s =S
So I usually just use M mode, less hassle...

Yeah saw is some books, maybe overseas. Btw, is it worthy to upgrade from Tammy 17-50 f2.8 non-vc? hmm.gif
*
Err but F2.8 is more important IMO. Not sure about this, ask the pros =D
If I, i would keep the tamron.

EDIT: Non VC... Hmm maybe not.

Interesting! But did you try set the canon to slave mode, then trigger it with your D90 built in flash?
*
Nope not yet try that, because I don't really know how to operate canon flash. the button so small and i dunno how to achieve the settings I want. If I happen to try that I tell you. But should be no problem because it's optically triggered i think.

Yea even if I have heck lots of cash now I won't be getting 70-200. I might get 24-70 or 16-35 F4. Buy what you need, not just buy what's the best.

But now I'm happy with my 18-105 cuz I don't shoot very frequent due to my university assignments etc... Maybe need another 50mm 1.8 just to cover low light.

BTW anyone going KLPF on sunday?

nice..but i prefer your warm tone more..  biggrin.gif

btw guys..just bought sb-600..with limited budget a bit..
trying commander mode..and built-in flash to trigger the sb-600..

i notice that light comes out from the built-in flash  to trigger sb-600; does affect the final images..so i end up putting my palm
to cover direct light from the built-in flash towards subject..

so any other way to do other than putting my palm to cover the built in flash? SU-800?
*
If not mistaken (that's what I do on my D90) you can set the pop up flash to "--" mode or set the flash compensation for the pop up flash to lowest, SB600 will still be triggered but the pop up flash power is really low...

I did it with D90 + di622
