Lol I wouldn't use the word comb over unles he's balding. i think the slick back/undercut/pompadour best suits those with a slightly longer/sharper/angular face.

deswai most abeng with fat, round face fail with that hairstyle.

Oh.. I used that term after watching this

Yea I kinda agree with what you said. Plus the clothes that they wear, so un-gentleman and not classy. sweat.gif

Hey guys,

Not sure if it's the right place to ask..
But, those with/used to have slick back or undercut hairstyle who uses pomade.
Do you experience higher degree of hair fall/loss ? Advice needed - Could it be due to product ? Should i stop completely?

My story:
I used to have pretty dense but thin and straight hair.. then i started the slickback thing (comb ur hair back and all)
Somehow i felt that my hair is getting lesser and lesser. Scary shit.. now worry i will go bald.
(Then again it could be due to me started swimming on a regular basis or just merely aging)

Hair cut history: slickback (pomade, hairspray)-> undercut(pomade or gel, hairspray) -> Current: School boy (pomade or wax, hairspray)

i might be wrong but it might be due to the product you are using, or not cleaning your hair thoroughly after u applied it. those pomade/hairspray can clogged the pores and new hair could not grow. try using shampoo that can clean your hair n scalp better. might help

I've used anti dandruff once when I was in high school. It was really harsh on my hair. Made it feel very dry and coarse.

If you use grease pomade then try using conditioner + shampoo to get it all off everyday. Many greaser will say can leave it on for a week etc. but I feel its really bad for hair to keep products on overnight.

If you're using water based pomade then should be no problems with clogging pores, if you wash your hair everyday.

Bro,
Thanks for the insights.
Potential Cause:
1. Wrong hair care - newbie to greasy product.
2. Occasional guilty of keeping products overnight when i am dead drunk laugh.gif

No products for now I guess. (hope it's not due to chlorine from pool)
Many thanks.

But even natural it will contain petroleum right? Having oil can clog pores. Some people maybe have higher tolerance on their scalp. I know some people who only degrease once a week but my hair is thin and very soft so I don't like keeping any grease on my head for too long.

Yeah maybe try some other shampoo also after your dandruff is gone. Having products on hair when sleeping also could cause hair to pull out prematurely when you move your head around the pillow.

There's no dandruff as long as i keep using anti-dandruff shampoo.. Once I stop.. different story.
Happened many times when i travel w/o my shampoo. rclxub.gif

Neway, lets see how things go. Any issues I will be back calling for help. biggrin.gif
Hopefully not bald patterns.

depends on you la if u think it looks right in front mirror just do it, if u have a gf ask her opinion whether it looks ok, make sure she's being honest though, or ask ur female colleagues for their opinion, cause in the end of the day you want to attract girls not men.

makes your life easier then since you're married, if u need anyone to ipress on daily basis, make sure it's your wife, that is surely one of the way to maintain a solid relationship, if she had asked you to go for it, make sure that she knows that her opinion matters most, and grin your teeth even if you think that the looks doesn't suit you!
