installed it mainly coz most of my friends are on it... i'm personally not too keen because it costs $.

i mean... its not like we dun have alternatives like... *ahem*... viber.

can't see contact photo, only show android icon for my SE X10i, anyone face the same or anyone know the solution?

same.. when i first install all pictures are showing.. then i decide to full wipe once when i flash a ROM and after reinstall... it all became android pic since then..

my LG optimus black can install this app or not

no need root, just search for whatsapp in the market and install..

i prefer whatsapp than viber

bcause viber not many ppl use

but i like iphone version of whatsapp
its a bit better than android .

coz they are fb contacts photo, photos synced by facebook application will not show up there, you need other contact sync apps to sync the pictures(HTC friend stream will not face this problem)

Added on August 14, 2011, 9:40 pmroot is somehow similar to jailbreak, but android already allows you to do most, but root is to do heavy customizations which involve modifying system files which may damage the device if used wrongly, it also may decrease security, so unless you know what you are doing,you don't need root(except titanium backup users)

for Htc u can via wifi
for other models i not so sure

using wifi... u still need to first have a simcard inside the phone, right?

i understand that WhatsApp is free for 1 year..
let say if i reached 1 year of using WhatsApp.. is it the apps blocked (can't open), or it will "earn" our money w/o any notice?

Hmm, the Symbian version can set whether to use cellular data or WiFi only, why the Android version can't?

Try Chaton by Samsung. Another alternatives to Whatsapp and it's free. Currently only available for android.

Then try better alternatives like kik, kakao, ping chat, liveprofile, viber. At least they have cross platform. Samsung's product are sad (software i mean).
