QUOTE(djlah @ Dec 27 2012, 06:54 PM) APU Trinity A10-5800K successor, Richland 28nm APU A10-6800K. FM2 socket, support DDR3 2133, 100W TDP and its graphics is based on Radeon HD 8000 series. The expected launch date is June. Most important bit is GCN 2.0 Radeon Cores Now all its left is price But one big concern is why launch 6 months after Trinity debut?? Will anyone be getting FX8300? The one notable spec is its TDP being 95W 3.3GHz vs FX8350 TDP 125W 4.0GHz . This year AMD can only sell revised steppings for the Piledriver FX series cores.
can anyone share what PileDriver 2.0 can offer to the table compared to current PileDriver series? I hope its not manufactured in 28nm tech. I don't want to be GlobalFoundries beta tester...

Optomos,
Global Foundries fab is in Singapore while Intel's fab is in Malaysia, Penang. BTW, why bother getting FM1 cpus? FM2 Richland might support CF with the Radeon 8000 series GCN.
Only 65w Quad Core I found in NewEgg is A8-5500.
Price: USD 105 or RM350.50 (325.50(105*3.1) + RM25 Shipping)

QUOTE(djlah @ Jan 11 2013, 07:52 AM) APU not for gaming. get any processor(without onboard video) + decent discrete graphics. So true. AMD must be crazy for not including GCN GPU cores into Trinity. If you buy a Trinity, it is an Intel I3 + HD6670 Radeon equivalent. Discrete GPU price drops after a year or 2. The better choice will be to invest with an I5 2nd hand and save money for the next gen gpu. This post has been edited by nill: Jan 11 2013, 01:38 PM

QUOTE(ValityMental @ Jan 11 2013, 01:37 PM) But my current setup is I3-3220 only? Since i have limited budget. whats your current gpu? budget? Price for high-end Trinity APUs starts at RM450. You can get decent 2nd hand price for gpus. Just remember not to exceed your psu rating.

ValityMental, is the I3 performance not enough except the iGPU?
you either sell ur I3 and mobo to get socket 1150 and Haswell CPU on May~June or just borrow a fren's gpu and run in your system. Maybe you only need a GPU upgrade?

Hint: Hide the system's age if you wanna resell.
You can always wait for price plummet for 1st gen I5. Quad cores will serve you better than dual hyper-threaded chips. I once got offered for RM800 for I7-860 + mobo Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3P. 2nd hand prices are a steal. Just secure at least one month personal warranty.
Sorry for going off topic, but this is still an AMD thread. Performance CPUs from AMD will not be released until 2014. Both Phenom II and Bulldozer will be phased out soon. Just wait for early adopters of Bulldozer to sell them for dirt cheap on Nov-Dec.

QUOTE(ValityMental @ Jan 11 2013, 04:31 PM) After checked. Dealers here is cheaper , but what i'm concern about is the warranty problem, might be hard for me to post out again @@ QUOTE(djlah @ Jan 11 2013, 06:11 PM) all my pc items I bought online. processor and ram always no worries for me. anyway, if your preferred option is walking retail, then you're limit to that price only. CJcomp has plenty of used *Intel processor. Try them. They are not "K" series so it might still be ok. This post has been edited by nill: Jan 11 2013, 09:41 PM

Steamroller igpu better be gcn. If not I'm sticking to Llano or I will just downgrade to a 4g LTE integrated Intel Atom phone in 2014 @Skilerz34 Phenoms are old tech and Piledriver is pretty sweet. Budget? Whats your current cpu? Whats the cpu for? This post has been edited by nill: Jan 31 2013, 07:50 PM

QUOTE(djlah @ Mar 13 2013, 04:30 PM) In 2014, DDR3 will be replaced with DDR4 & GDDR5 will be replaced with GDDR6. kindly share source of schedule of DDR4 hitting consumer market. If DDR4 will reach retail stores next year, hopefully the price will not be too steep. Even the Haswell chips are still using DDR3 RAM. Too bad PS4 and XBox(Durango) are not using DDR4, if not the DDR4 price will be even competitive or the opposite will happen since Microsoft will purchase all the DDR4 RAMs ?
