Super AMOLED is better under sunlight compare to AMOLED. So, why do I need to compare if I already knew? ~

Actually how bad is it? I find myself wont bother looking at all. In fact when using 5800, I cant see also. User preference? I dont really know if anyone would bother trying to look at your phone under hot sun.

QUOTE(askformore @ Sep 9 2010, 03:56 PM)
Why nokia not using Android OS in their future handphone. They can increase their mobile phone sales with this technique. I mean not completely stop their Symbian production line, but give user more choice with new Android OS phone.
*
Bro,

Aint you glad to see them replying in a sensible manner compared to those in Iphone or Android forum?

I wont explained why but there is no problem with Symbian. You probably can imagine why it sucks instead. Android is fun to use with touch screen but ask them to come out with a keypad version and see how. The same problem with Symbian. Initially Nokia wanted a totally brand new Symbian for touch screen, which is S90. It was a good debut but Nokia decided to scrap it due to lack of support from developers. Instead they went back to S60 and try to slap a touch interface on the current S60. Thats why it made Nokia especially lacking.

What Nokia lacks is non other than the way user want to communicate with the touch screen. Anyone who use a S90 device would know better.

maybe that's why:

S3 > S4/Meego
WM6 > WM7
iOS3 > iOS4

all clearly don't want to switching > android...

try to ask "beloved" Job to switching to android see what he say tongue.gif

Why do you think Android is the best?
Android is better than Symbian for my current usage but not really being the best.

lol i think is mainly cos Nokia too stingy on dev cost for something new like Android..and they too proud to use something from other people?
*
Nokia too stingy?

Are you sure? They can come out with good OS like Maemo and S90 but decided not to go ahead with it. Its not money that matters. Its something else.

Nokia has too many platform/OS. Why would they want to add another to their already complicated mixture? Instead, they need to standardize them all. Qt would be the first step but seeing Nokia touch based offering so far, who would bet they would get back their investment for a not-so-interesting platform if they jump onboard. Instead they are flocking to Android because the OS is uniform, with different revision offering additional features. That alone is much easier to deal with compared to Nokia mixture of Maemo, S60, S40. Besides Google open approach to Android means anyone could get easy access to its code.

if they arent, they would have put in something more then just 434Mhz ARM processor, and push mobile gaming..see how power was N95, N82 and E90. If they didnt decide to pull out OMAP from their device because 'product cost is too pricey', i think the one leading mobile gaming might be Symbian, not iOS.

I agree that nokia has too many platforms, which is what i explained to askformore before that..

This one have to ask god when we all die...
LOL...

Some argue its because of power saving (who can deny them when your Nokia 5800XM can stand by for 4 days) while other claims (like me for example) because they want to cut cost.

Who is leading also does not matter... you just need to keep courting developers to come out with new apps.

Look at Flash... it was nothing a few years ago. Look at it now... everyone dying for Flash support... it was not really something that out of the world, but they just work...

I just recheck N8 spec and its going to support SWAP aka NAND Memory, smaller in size compared to N900.

Is this Nokia's final answer to end the problem towards out of memory, instead of more RAM?

that page still have BT3.0 as it's spec and again about those NAND Memory last time they stated it as the ROM where suppose use by the firmware (Z) and it's share with those left over 135Mb ©... correct me if i'm wrong....  hmm.gif

*pengsan

ROM is like a harddrive in a mobile. They store the OS there with leftover to store phone operational data like messages and callings record but at the same time also allow user to install app in them. They are somewhat limited why is why we must make good use of them. Stuffs that you sent through bluetooth are also store there until you save it somewhere else. Thats why you can only receive file as big as your rom free space.

Swap is something else...

yup, that also a let down on me too... like the tube if not mistaken below is the setting:

128Mb RAM
256Mb ROM split by the Z: drive and C: drive and after hard reset the C: only left ~75Mb for use...  shakehead.gif
*
There is only one usage of bigger rom and thats not even meant for our personal usage. Most if not all newer Android devices come with 512MB ROM but whats left for user, just a little bit over 100MB to spare nia. I prefer bigger ROM as it allows them to roll out new stuffs thats probably gonna take up more space, and not for personal usage.

Aye, sort of it la... dont get too much into these naming stuffs la.

They wanna advertised as ROM so we just used back the same term so that everyone can communicate on the same level. Those technical stuffs leave at bay...

Andre going to throw away his Legend when all this Mobile with powerful Video chip on it..  laugh.gif

I'm not really that interested with them at all for my mobile. It just got my interest because I was wondering how the same processor class can differ so much. Now that I learn that the gpu was responsible for all these, I was kinda interested to learn how much these tiny gpu can do. That was due to my own not so good experience with my HD4850 which was probably hundred times more powerful than SGX535 but was not able to use DXVA smoothly.

I'm not gonna buy any phone for the moment. If I really want something portable, my choice would be Ipod Touch.

Nokia will die? So cham ah? Nvm la.. I try persuade my friends and relatives to buy at least a Nokia phone every year to keep them afloat.

Now that I think of it, I have bought quite a number of Nokia phone over these 3 years. In my house alone, wife using N85, dad use Nokia, mom use my ex-n78, two n79 for my sis n bro, one unused 7610, one cheapo 3xxx smashed to pieces.. if still dying, then must send a banquet of flower to their HQ

If they really die, I will feel very sad. When I was a poor poor student, the first phone I owned is 8250. I was like gorilla, always let the phone slip through my hands and smash into pieces. And then like jigsaw puzzle, assemble the front and back cover, battery and pray it works. 10 out of 10 times also works. Who needs gorilla glass? Nokia certainly hires engineers and not art students to do their phone design unlike rotten fruit.
