Hi Zeng. thanks for your kind words.
one reason why i like this forum is there's a small but growing group of people who're willing to help others.
and also offering words of consolation.

Oh believe me. I have so much more to share.
but the questions need to be posed to me.
only then can I answer.
anyone wants to know about mobile companies and which one to get?  brows.gif
it's the top 20 in UK for my course and overall ranking for a number of years already.
when i complained to the Director regarding this issue, you know what she say to me?
a lot of gibberish and finally she say she has another appointment.
when i complain to my Scottish tutor, you know what she say to me?
'this is how uni life is. you have to handle things as they come'.
I can't reveal because if I don't get into my other uni choices then I may go back to that uni.
For those who are in the dark please wake up.
You will have bangladeshi, pakistani, nigerian, kenyan, china etc leturers teaching you.
so before you choose or finalize your uni please do your research on your lecturers in the faculty.
or you may find yourself in my position.

if you cannot understand the accent, better voice out to higher staff.
hopefully you and your friends will be offered a solution.

for those who still wondering which uni to choose or how to arrive at your decision?
watch the video below till the 05:00 minute and you will know what to do.

*
Understand your position on non-disclosure. In that respect, it would help future students, if you can provide info on which ranking body (THE/QS/gooduniguide/completeuniguide, etc) and the exact course you were enrolled in. Thanks.

Also, you posted in another thread you're CURRENTLY doing your A levels? Were you doing a foundation course in the UK after your diploma in Brickfileds? rclxub.gif

hi boringbrick.

1) the best undoubtedly is Three mobile for a contract line.
click on the next line below.
Three Mobile Price Plan
you pay a one time fee of RM 107 for the phone and then,
eat all you can internet data for + 600 mins free calls = RM 204 per month.

2) so far Three mobile was the best for me. because with the unlimited internet, i practically leave my phone wifi on and then I connect my laptop to it. 24/7 internet access for RM 204 per month is indeed a good bargain. not every uni campus has free wifi everywhere so instead of having to rely on the uni, I rather just get a Three mobile line and settle my internet access once and for all.

3) top up card is so yesterday. the credit finishes very fast.
also, why must you pay your student accommodation manager internet fees when you can just get a mobile line from Three mobile with the unlimited internet usage and 600 free mins?  thumbup.gif

but if you're on a tight budget then just get a prepaid card.
i recommend Lebara mobile prepaid.
its also good for international calls.
Lebara Prepaid Click On Me
you just go to any kedai and buy the SIM card then you buy the top-up and then you can use it.

different people got different financial situation.
see which one suits you then you get it.
ok?

can anyone share with me what your placement agents told you about UK that you feel unsure about?
maybe you want to recheck with me?
*
I think future students should email the universities directly instead of going through placement agents.

Trying to get the best possible lower cost and normal lifestyle living, no partying that sort of life. If possible, I would like to work part time whenever schedule allows me. As to where the intended place to practice law very much depends on securing a contract and visa approval ? Thanks.
*
You should know that jobs are very scarce for law grads in the UK, even for the locals. I know of at least 2 who have passed their bar, and have not secured any jobs. Both are coming back next month.

anyone using HSBC premier service here?

I have the assumption that there is a free service which allows for opening a UK bank account while still located in Malaysia.

Is this still valid for now?

Thanks
*
We did that a couple of years back, but it is my understanding that it's very hard to do so now.

You have absolutely no right to judge because your brain doesnt seem to absorb logic, or understand lingual semantics. Why not tag him here and see what he says? Can I say the same by thinking youre some sortof fail student?

Get a dictionary, and stop aggravating others just because you want to prove something inconsequential to feed your own damn ego. You have yet to answer any of the questions ive thrown at you.

Is this "oxford-speak"?

I think you just walked right into a well dug hole.

What course are you looking at? Just pick a decent uni that's recognised. Country is personal preference.

Anyone bought any insurance before going overseas?
Is Endsleigh insurance already provided for you when u go thr to study, dont have to apply?

Any benefit provided by government there?

Has anyone claimed VAT before? How does it work? I dont really understand it after reading their website...
*
For VAT, see point number 3 in this link, which is self explanatory.

More or less, "hedged" but looking at the forex, sweat.gif
I think intercalating is out of the question...and fortunately subject has not been broached for a while.

That's what she told me. I googled and yeah, the income depends on more than just working. Anyway still many years to go.

The many Sgs in her cohort is influencing her that UK is not the place to be as nearly all the Sgs are heading home after graduation. Even now, most of them prefer to do their electives in Sg.

But most of those from IMU intends to stay on despite being on JPA. What a difference between those from bolehland and sg!

Scenario in Liverpool is the same! smile.gif
Is your relative back for the summer? Mine is only sitting for his exams end of the week, and OSCEs next week!

Why so late on the exams? Written exams was in February and OSCE 3 weeks ago

She's back for one month and going back next week for her electives.
*
Usual schedule for the uni. Less than 2 months break for summer. Starts again on 1 September, full time in hospital, and final exams (for the course) end of academic year. Electives end of yr 4, for them.

Wow, the Ringgit against the  pound is now RM6.29.

Looks like no brakes and yet to see the hike in interest rates in US and UK.
*
BNM not even doing anything, and August/September is a time for buying more sterling especially for those going over for the first time.

I have been telling people with children in UK to hedge when it was around 5.2....and that was just 1 year ago....you know you are going to need x amount of pounds, if you have the funds already in myr, just convert....why wait to do yearly or half yearly, and subjected to fluctuations?....
*
Agree! Now he better graduates as scheduled. LOL.

Still! I've told him to look for other sources of funding...haha.
But he has also since found out there are many other "further education" alternatives.

Best to renew before you leave for the UK. If I'm not mistaken, you can drive in the UK for 12 months on your Malaysian licence, as a student.
