Hi guys. I overclocked my C2D E6600 to 3.2GHz FSB:DRAM ratio 1:1. Idle temperature around ~65C and on 100% CPU load the temperature shoots up to ~90C. I'm on stock HSF though. Read on some forums mentioning it's best keeping operating temperature below 60C. What's the safe operating temperature for C2D E6600 ya? Thanks

I googled E6600 B2 sspec and it stated the Thermal Specifaction is only 60.1°C. Is this TCaseMax?. Then it seems it's a very low rating then.

Since my temperature is so high, i'm planning to change the cooler. What cooler is best suggested? And also for thermal paste, Arctic Silver5 will do?

Wanna get ur advise on my CPU temperature problem. Is it normal at idle my E8400 temp is 47 - 48"c. Busy is about 51 - 55 "c.

My Rig : E8400@3000Mhz no OC

Then it should be something wrong with my proc or the stock HSF not installed correctly. But i installed it firmly and it's not loose  Only downside is i have not re-apply any thermal paste as i have none. But anyway, seriously considering getting the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283.

I'm using Gigabyte 965P-DS3 and i'm worried the NB heatsink will block the cooler and i can't install it as the height of the NB heatsink is quite tall. I measured the height using a ruler and it's approximately 3.4cm.

Anyone with XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 installed it on a GA-965P-DS3 before or is confirmed sure that it can be installed with no problems, please let me know

the safe spot is actually 3.8 for both WC and air.
its kinda weird cause the cooling does not impact it as much as it did on the 65nm
