QUOTE(uzairi @ Feb 27 2009, 03:54 PM) Not that much of power, mine 3.6ghz load + hd4850 725/1125 load topped out at 388w only. im sure with a 4ghz E8XXX proc on stock voltage will use much less power. Added on February 27, 2009, 4:24 pmhttp://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/overclock-power-efficiency,2155.html 3ghz Q6600 and 3.9ghz E8500. This post has been edited by hilmiangah: Feb 27 2009, 04:24 PM

QUOTE(hengmy @ Mar 31 2009, 02:38 PM) heat is not the main problem to cause the failure in OC, my processor reached more than 100c but still running in linx (due to poor thermal paste applied). i do agreed linx is better in stability testing but only for dualcore after i tried it with quadcore.. maybe u all with quadcore can try it out and share the outcome, the lowest vcore to pass linx 10 loops and prime it for few hours that one is gonna haunt u...............

the best way is to run the LinX under diagnostic mode as it free a lot of ram and hence more stressfull test.

QUOTE(paradis3lost @ Feb 19 2010, 09:31 PM) Got my E8400 @ 3.6GHz with stock HSF at 1.225V. However, when I try to push it to 450 x 9, my computer BSOD when I try to stress the memory. I've been looking around for a way to OC my KVR800s but I can't really find a definitive guide. Can anyone here guide me to OC my E8400 to 4GHz? Specs is as below: Proc: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Mobo: Asus P5Q SE RAMs: 2x1GB KVR800 PSU: Silverstone Strider SST-ST50F-230 HSF: Intel stock Edit: will get better HSF if I am sure I can definitely OC it to 4GHz. what sort of ram speed, voltage and timing when u ran the 450x9 setting??
