Just updated my Eaget M6 with new firmware! It works and solves all the problems of mkv no picture. Thank you ZhenWei!

7.94gb, but probably not player's problem, cause when i play my ff13 ps3 on that tv, certain movement also i'll see a bit of ghosting, could it be due to 200hz?

i dont think so, becoz that day i play avatar extended 16gb at the EagetX5 also can play smooth, no lagging. the latest firmware already solve almost all the problem. last time big mkv file wil lagging using eagetx5, but now no problem already.
just Eaget X5 canot do much edit for the subtitle than Eaget M850.

I copy the install.img to a 512mb pendrive,
then I go to system->system update->system update, but nothing happen, what I miss ?

opps.. sorry, my mistake..i format my usb as ext instead of fat.. sorry.

using M6 but unable to start btpd ... so unable to use the torrent function ... how to start it?

do u put the hdd in the player and format using the eaget ?

yup, else all the samba and btpd and cgi thing wun appear.

So I try to telnet to my M6 from computer and start it ... after start for a few seconds, it auto stop again.



Possible cause by I havent update my M6 at all? My M6 is new.

Hi Zhen Wei,

Bought the M6 several days ago from Digital Mall. The firmware version is ver 4.08 and I have downloaded the 4.12 from your link yesterday to my notebook. How to I apply the 4.12 - can I just copy it from my notebook to the 3.5 HDU that is currently connected to the M6 via USB and then upgrade from there?

Also, I have another 3.5inch HDU with mkv movies, can I use it as the M6 internal disk without formating it using M6?

need use thumbdrive 2gb or below only.

u can use that 3.5" hdd in eaget m6, but it will always prompt out the warning ask u to format it.

i dont think there's xunlei kankan in the new firmware? can u tell where is it located in the new IMS?

yes, already plug in. when you click on gougou, you will get BBTV menu with no channels/programs inside.

Latest update:

I download the M6 firm ware 4.12, extract the IMG file, put in a thumbdrive (FAT format, less than 2GB, or try to use your wifi dongle to get it online). Then perform SYSTEM UPGRADE.

Then go to [system info] and format the internal hdd again.

After tat go to [BT and Samba] and on it.

Then I go to my PC and type \\192.168.1.66 <-- my M6 IP.

I can see the Neighbor Web page, it will show the HD disk space in front page.

After that I go upload a torrent file.

At first everything seems fine, but after that everything disconnect, you can't see the torrent file anymore, and the Neighbor Web page can't see the HD disk space anymore.

Go to M6 and see the wifi signal, it give me a strange signal, it keeps blinking full and empty. But it is locate next to the modem, and before I upgrade, it never got such problem one.

Now I can still access M6 thru my PC, but the BT/torrent function totally not visible.

When I try to upload another torrent, the same error msg I encounter yesterday appear == "torrent add failed ..."

seems like the BTPD service down again right after I upload first torrent, but in v4.12, the BTPD is locate at another directory and I unable to find it.

New update:

I try to re-format the HD again, the torrent function back again.

When I try to upload a new torrent and start download again, the same thing happen after like 5min, everything is gone and the HD will not be recognize at 'Neighbor Page' anymore.

So it seems like this is a problem with the M6 firmware.

The primary reason I bought M6 is to BT, any fixes or other torrent daemon I can try?

u can upgrade to old firmware to try.
do not reply these kind of player to do BT, it will not do as well as our computer software. streamyx block BT activies
