Guys... None of these would work... Because the cd key on our laptop is already activated in our current windows.. Windows cd key can only be activated once.. So even if u install ahem version but activating using our current product key it won't work... That's why backup recovery cd's exists nowadays...

I think it's linked to the WiFi, so when you press the FN + F2 keys, it'll disable them.
*
Nah, you can choose which one to on, which one to off...

When clicking FN +F2, you can your mouse the either sign to click it to turn on/off the function.

To be honest, U2 isn't as amazing as I thought it would be.... Doesn't help much also...

Did you put directly at the intake? another fan should directly under hardisk. Seems like HDD is dying for A42JV.
*
Ah, haven't been following the forum today..

Erm.. I am not very sure where is the HDD.. Can you show me where you put ur both fans? My highest temperature is always ACPI..

Seems like 2 fans is not enough also haha.. A big fan in the middle does better somehow..

For those concerned about the webcam being 0.3MP only.. I can assure you it's so much clearer than many 1.3MP or 2.0MP webcams..... I just tested it with a Dell Inspiron built-in webcam, and an external a4tech one on my desktop... A42Jv's webcam is the clearest and has the best colour...

The main problem is that ur A42jv laptop shown total graphic dedicated = 1696MB but mine cant detect Geforce. Worry about mine is a defective product.

One more problem ( donno whether is a problem or not)
About A42Jv altec lansing speaker. Y is it so big different compare to A52 which is much more nicer than A42Jv.

Thx anywhere for all your information provided. XD
*
How is the speaker nicer than A42Jv?

I find A42Jv having really nice speakers for laptops with the right EQ settings.... The only downside is too soft...

what EQ settings do you apply?
*
Custom is always the best =)..... but the loudest one should be 'ROCK'... But the treble to mids overpowered the bass in this setting....

But ROCK is the best setting if you're using laptop speakers because other settings would be too soft..

do u use the SRS settings?

Added on September 24, 2010, 1:28 amwhat about the setting with headphones?
*
Hmm I don't think I can do anything with the SRS except choosing music/movie mode?

Yea like someone mentioned, it's all to ur own preference... Some ppl like bassy but some ppl like more treble...

QUOTE(CzarXVII @ Sep 24 2010, 09:09 PM)
i'm using default bass and treble EQ.. biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
*
lol, i don't like any of the default except rock lol... For me clarity is important, so the mids can't be too high or too low.... Most of the time my EQ would be something like a U-shape... If bass and treble too high would be like 'M' shape..

seem like my A42jv hav no bass effect... may b defective product.. aikzz
donno how to explain the speaker.
*
Laptop speakers are never meant to have much bass effect anyways because they dun have woofer.. Unless it's Toshiba Qosmio with Harman Kardon lol... Get a proper 2.1 external speakers if you want more Bass....

hmm, how to enable my ETD driver? It seems that it was disabled somehow, but I could still use 2 finger scroll n zoom functions.... But when i try to change the shortcuts n settings, it doesn't have any effect...

I suspect there's a clash of 2 drivers, because I installed another one from the Asus website previously...
Where can I check and reinstall the touchpad driver??

What is ETD?
and by shortcuts n settings, which one you mean?
A42Jv should be using ALPS driver if not mistaken...
*
ETDCtrl.exe is the program to customize the touchpad of A42jv... Hmmm.. It's ok la, I think I'll try to work out something..
