bro vmammoth,

i have that high pitch sound as well once in a while....until today dunno what is the problem ....

i suspect it's the hdd....

QUOTE(vmammoth @ Sep 17 2010, 01:10 PM)
No I use it in room without aircond. I am not sure where the noise comes from but it is light very high pitch hissing sound from some switching devices.

I am having a small problem, when i play css my fps is fine at the start however after about 5 mins of playing the fps starts to fall lower and lower until like 20 fps then everything becomes choppy. is the gpu overheating.

btw i am playing most settings on high.

have you:

a) updated the nvidia graphic driver?
b) upgrade memory to 4GB
c) follow the tutorial in the first page

Yes to all your question above.

THe fps seems to gradually get less and less each round i play online. this does not make sense/ is the gpu faulty?

I heard people have this problem before. THe other thing u can try is to make sure the temperature of GPU/CPU
is not too high by playing in air cond room.

Another thing is disable antivirus or other software that might hog your system resources.

I scared its ur game that is not updated.

Also you can try to disable VSync in the first page (scroll down to below).

what is STEAM nick?

Added on September 18, 2010, 12:38 amSomething I found from other forum:

i had the same problem you have but after some research i found a fix.
What is causing the lag is the "Multimedia Class Scheduller" service. all you need to do is disable the service. sound is dependent on this service so you will then need to run regedit, then find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Audiosrv\DependOnService double click on it and remove MMCSS from the list

reboot and play lagfree.

Long time no update.

My notebook temperature with air-cond blowing directly.
Running on battery at high performance settings.

SC2 is running good at High setting with VSync turn off at Nvidia Control Panel settings.
FPS at around 35 to 40.
