I love Luis as much as anyone else but for all the brilliant moments, there were more frustrating ones. He wasn't a brilliant "striker", a you put it though. I think the fact that he's been shipped off to Greece says a lot. Can be brilliant in spurts but by and large, frustrating to watch.

He was, but because of the influence of his uncle IRRC and he was really young back then, he even had a scums jersey back then, Bryan Robson I think, when he was totally oblivious to the rivalry between The Reds and the red devils.

His father made him a Liverpool fan after that but he can never convince me that he's a 100% Liverpool fan in heart, those who reads his autobiography I guess should share similar sentiments.

from what i heard from my friend who lived there. mostly who support everton is common workers like labour. but i dont know if its true or not. everton and liverpool share same area, u can just walk around 10-15 minuted from anfield to goodison park.

You can see both Brad Jones and the ref smiling all the way. Carra did achieve his childhood dream of scoring for Everton afterall.

Plus I heard that some part of the crowd was boo-ing Owen in the beginning...but after the game progresses the boos slowly disappeared. I still hope the fans forgive him for his decision...and remember all the good things he done for us before.

I'm not the one who hold grudges for those players who left the club in a not-so-nice way, like Owen, Masch or even Riera. They've gotten results for us and they have been a good servant for the club when they are in top form. YNWA.

From what I noted, both Everton and Liverpool supporters share a common demographic. In the past, a lot of the economy centred around the docks (hence your reference to "labourers") but currently, there is an even split between white and blue collared folk.

Yes, it's also common knowledge that both clubs are from the same area i.e. Merseyside, hence the rivalry. It isn't uncommon for families to have split loyalties. Both stadiums are indeed a stone's throw away from one another. I reckon one of the reasons we have to move from Anfield and not expand is because some Evertonians live around it and are unwilling to move.

from what i know, the old days many workers from the docks (blue collar worker) supported LFc. (even Robbie fowler had a teeshirt flash supporting them over a dock issue when he scored for Lfc game)

Everton had some big local (supermarket owner & several well heeled families) amongst their fans base & it was seen as more 'white-collar' fan base.

yes..but u forget the line that. he was everton fan. maybe not so much now, i think he put liverpool as his 1st club and everton as his 2nd club now. but really glad he fullfill he dream to score for everton.

Correction. Everton isn't his 2nd club due to the reasons I provided earlier. He is now Liverpool through and through and hates Everton. If you've read about him, you'll note that he relishes playing in the Merseyside derby because of all the reasons I cited. There is no team he'd love to beat more than the bitters. Don't confuse yourself. The headlines read that he realised him boyhood dream of scoring for Everton. In no way does this suggest that he now supports them.
