One question, how much is the difference between i7 720 and i7 740?

True, hybrid HDD and EAX 4.0.

The only thing i dont really like is, i need to do the repasting myself.

I know it;s 133MHz, but will it be noticeable?

Maybe a couple of frames different?

The reason that Gentech owns is because they can do the repasting for me,BIOS update,3 years international warranty and i get 133 MHz more. I dont get EAX4.0 and hybrid HDD,though. The bad thing if i get form Gentech is, i might get fined and lost RM1k to the damn customs if they found out it's a brand new laptop.

Yea, but im pretty much wanting G73JH now, and the one at Gentech does not have EAX4.0 if im not wrong.

No, SSD is better.

Well, worth considering, as both option are quite good, IMO.

I need to learn how to do repasting then. Starting with my old laptop. Maybe i should file a complain and get the GC fixed before the warranty runs out.

well, if you google on how to change the thermal paste, it's quite complicated for G73, as you need to remove the monitor,keyboard to reach the GPU and CPU. Then, thats the problem with dual fan system, you need to remove 2 fans separately.

After, if nothing goes wrong, awesome!!

Well, the problem is, the Dell AU service is slow. Really really slow.

Gawd knows where the guy come from.

It took me 1 and half weeks to fix the HDD, while in Malaysia, 3 days max.

I know, but the problem is, if i repaste and i screw up everything, i only can blame myself. If the repaste guy do and he screw up, i can ask for replacement.

Thats just a minor concern, though. I have to try la, on my aging Dell first, as it's ridiculously hot now.

It seems the pasting isnt really the problem, but the wifi is overheating like crazy.

I dont know, i just know that part of the laptop that is hot, there is a wifi card. Nothing else.

No idea why.

Seriously, thats what i want, and it's under 2k!

I'll take a lower res screen than a high res one any day.

Flying frame rates >>>> Full HD.

G73JW seem to have better thermal pasting. Seems like Asus has learnt it's lesson with G73JH.

I might as well just wait for the low res G53 then. 1300x700 is more than enough for me. Hell, im still playing 800x600 on some older games because i want more flashy effects.

It's either G53 low res version, or the more expensive G73JH with Blu Ray, Hybrid HDD and EAX4.0. I think it still worth the price, as i get quite a lot of extra stuff.

I'll get it local, as i know the guys from Online Computers.

It's my call la on either a low res screen G53 that is smaller,easier to carry, or a large G73JH with all the extra bling bling on it.

Well, from what i see G73JW seem to have better pasting, while the old model G73JH didnt.

The problem with G73JH is some of it doesnt come with good pasting, which cause a lot of thermal problems.

Im thinking of buying mine soon,as i think i just found a good deal. i7 720QM, 8GB RAM, Seagate Momentus XT 1TB, 5870, Blu Ray writer, a bag, a Razor mouse, steel series headset. Even on Gentech, with all these stuff, already cost 2.1k USD,and now i can pick up from a store in Sydney for 2299AUD. Blu Ray writer is useless, but i cant do much about it anyway.

Need to find some time to buy it.

The one im getting is the newer model, i hope, as the hybrid HDD is only given as an option later on. Hopefully i wont have that many problems that plagued the earlier models.

Wow, it's not exactly smaller than G73.

The temps are good, though.

Might be picking up my G73JH-FHD on this weekend, as my M1530 is dying on me. The wifi chip is unstable, and it's dropping wifi more often now.

I just called them, and they suggest me that i place my order to pay and pickup at shop. Then, come to the shop and have a look at the unit tomorrow, only decide whether i want it or not.
