my idle temp after laptop startup is about 60 C.. after some hours of gaming, my temps are low to mid 90s.. it depends very much on ambient temps.. If aircon room, max gaming temp about 90. If in a stuffy room with ceiling fan, can go up to 96 or so.

Thats, a bit high isnt it?

vary with the thermal paste u uses, if ICD7 of coz better like bro viperion.. laugh.gif

The main reason im getting from Gentech is, i want the repasting done by the supplier, rather than the inexperience me.

I'll probably destroy it than repaste it properly.

I think my M1530 underclock like crazy when it overheats.

I did think of repasting my aging M1530, though. Maybe just give it a shot after exams.

MSI GX660R pros over G73JH:
15" gaming laptop
R.A.I.D
2 USB 3.0

G73JH Pros over GX660R:
cool design
dual fan cooling, i mean separate cooling for cpu and gpu.
*
I thought G73 also have dual fan cooling?

I dont know which one to order, though.

Need help to decide on whether i should get G53JW, G73JH or G73JW. Which one should i get?

I tend to play higher end games like BFBC2, TF2, SC2 or DoW2. Also, will play games like NFS Hot Pursuit 2010, MoH, Black Ops and so on.

crysis 2 will be on physx gimmick again. so.... i duno if gtx460m will gain more fps compared to HD5870m yet. AFAIK, GTX 260m managed to dethrone HD3870m easily last time but not HD4870m yet. sweat.gif
*
I think with better drivers, 460M might dethrone 5870.

these's the posibility as GTX 460m is very close to HD5870m performance.
*
It is already very close now, IMO.

Just a few fps lower.

I think i do need a new laptop, as my aging M1530 is having problems, like getting hotter and showing some signs of another GPU failure.

Mine not gpu failure more like thermal paste caked to extreme and gpu overheats coz asus designed my a8jr to have the copper pipes for cpu and gpu are shared. so both are spreading heat to each other which result in force shut down sometimes.

Maybe a repasting will do?

should be doing repasting tonite. biggrin.gif

And Heard some G73jw still faces missng keystrokes and underperforming GTX 460m in FF14 frames compared to AW HD5850m. doh.gif
*
Here we go again. doh.gif

G73JH had that problem, but solved with BIOS flash.

I might as well get AW since im in Aus and dont have to worry about customs, if G73JW gonna have a lot of silly problems like G73JH initially.
