For the GSOD your screen will become Gray in color with very thin black stripes visible in the background. Hard to describe, do a search in youtube and you can see for yourself

RMA it. could be the bad memory chip starting to acting up.

Do you have an account here? If you registered your laptop, login and click on warranty info. Check under Notebook and the click on the link Notebook Global Service on the right. Click on Asus Global Service Center. Look for the country you are in, in this case:

Germany
01805-010920 (09:00-18:00, Mon.~Fri., £á14cent/min German fix line; mobile communication max £á42cent/min)

You should download a memtest program to check your memory modules out to confirm there is a hardware issue before RMA. I will search for one later and post it here 

guys, are there store in lowyat that sell the G series laptops at imported price?

hmm just refered to G53 on gentechpc... they can change the backlit LED and key label for WASD.

guys, is the keyboard LED backlit only light up during start up? don't know why mine no more light
and how to do update the ccc to 10.8 version? i have tried to uninstall the stock version then install 10.8 but end up my graphic card cant detect and i have to restore my system

I would love the blue backlit keyboard but not red WASD keys. Too close to spiderman's theme color

They are working on it know since the squashed the GSOD bug 

My bike is black and I modified it with blue LEDs and it's sweet. I will post it here when I get back from my B'day dinner  Gotta rush now, family is waiting to meet me in restaurant to celebrate

I wanted to buy Asus G53 , and I had a few questions:

1 . Any problem with the laptop that is common , such as the laptop getting unreasonably hot ?

2.One of the users on lowyat recommended that I get my notebook from GenTechPC , I was wondering if you guys have tried buying from them ? are they reliable ( I went to their website , I got a little worried cause the site doesn't look professional) ?

3. If I decided to buy from GenTechPC are there any import duties I have to pay ??

4. What is the procedure like for importing , I mean if I order it just comes to my house , no need to do anything else ?"? sorry for asking such a noob question , but I never purchased a laptop online before?

5. Also if buy from US, what do you guys do for electricity problem ? cause it is different from there and here?

Paypal check is just like normal check, takes some time to process, not the usual instant payment like normal paypal.

Hm... should i order it from Gentech? or get it from sgcubehubs? I think sg better right? the other thing is i have until feb 2011 to get the laptop. Should i get it now? or should i wait incase they change the specs abit in the future?

I've checked the sgcubehub, dun mind buying from them since the price is RM5.5K, about the same as ordering from Gentech, and also i get to see the laptop first...

hahaha the G53 is already more than i need, just wondering whether i should get it early or late...
