I can't login since 21/1105 the stupid maintenance done by TMNet. Even tho I can login but still keep dc'ed. Those people in our linkshell using streamyx all can't login

I can however login through Jaring dialup

streamyx has been kinda slow n suqy these days

Day 4 - Still can't get online... wtf is wrong with stimx? I've to use Jaring to get to Dynamis and God runs...

Day 5 - Woohoo! I can login now. I'm not sure who's fault really anyway.. Jaring could login no problem. TMNet can't but after SE's world maintainance, TMNet was able to login again.. hmm

I'm a newbie to mmos in general, so forgive me for asking this question because I never got a straight answer:
If I can't overcome a hardware firewall, can I still play this game?

Also, I'm thinking of investing my time in an mmorpg, and there are so many to choose from (including dungeons & dragons online, which is set in eberron, my fav dnd location). What sets ffxi apart from the rest, in your opinion?

From what I know you need to open few ports (many ports udp and tcp) or your pc in DMZ.

FFXI is a time consumer MMORPG (is very very ). This game you can't play alone. You can't level yourself once you hit level 10 (except BST job). Alots of people gave up because the levelling system require you to join party, this will kill you . Sometime you will waste 1 day to seek for party (unless you play those common job example like WHM or Ninja) . You will enjoy once your job hit level60 with full AF and alots mission or quest you can do at this level .

For me, I was enjoying now because my Paladin almost hit level 75 . And I was in halfway for CoP mission and last chapter for ZM. Sooner or later will going to Dynamis to kill those high level HNM, God, Dragon and etc .

Hmmm I'm hesitating to play this game at the moment mainly because of lack of time..

Yeah if you got no time, I discourage you from this damm game.. lol. However, if you do, it's better than WoW a billion times.

basically the economy sucks ... everything is expensive . i really dont know how new ppl can come in this game and survive . looking at the price of items for sale in the auction house is really not fun to say the least. im talking about lakshmi server , other server i dont know.


im 75 thf already but poor .. cause im lazy . i log in everyday but sometimes i just wander around ... in game or in real life... for example last weekend i woke up .. 1st thing i do is log in ffxi ... afk all the time . when i want to go to sleep i log out . i did some crafting and got a lot of gil . ( BUT not much .. im at my poorest state.) any on goings of our daily routine and activities can be read at www.midgardlsffxi.cjb.net ... there ppl plan on what mission to do together and coordinate what time to gather together and go .. we are mostly all same time zone ... minus a few european and North American but they dont hv a problem playing at our peak hour it seems.

enough of my ramblings ... im bored at office

Currently patching...so slow...
Shud be able to login and learn the controls by tonight..
Gonna start leveling by tomorrow..
