check my sig out... 2 years in this game and still going steady. smile.gif No 75 jobs yet but close enough.. focusing a lot on Dynamis (alternate world) and Chains of Promathia missions ( darn good storyline ). Oh ya, I bought almost all the MMOs out there in the market and hell, I just wanna play FFXI in the end. smile.gif

This game is so good it's screwing my life pretty bad too... my grades... sad.gif
If you are just starting to look into this game, I suggest you start of with popular jobs like Red Mage Black Mage or White Mage. When you get advance jobs, go for jobs that's extremely popular like Bard Paladin or the extremely popular but really pricy jobs Ninja & Ranger. If you are thinking about being a melee such as Dark Knight Samurai or Dragoon, don't! You'll just complain about the waiting time for a party.

p/s: my only problem with FFXI is the abudance of chinese gil sellers. ><

FFXI is fun. smile.gif You just need to play the popular jobs (non-melee) and you'll not LFG for 10 hours. Preferably, you should play Bard, Red Mage, Blackmage, Paladin or Ninja if you want to minimize your time on lfg.

As for roleplay, this game is the best. Missions and storylines are WAYYYYYYYYYYY better than WoW or any other MMOs. There's only one problem, you can never solo these missions. You'll need a whole team of balanced players (i.e. whitemage, red / brd, blm, paladin / nin, and 2 extra players).

I've completed Promathia, Zilart and my nation Mission and I can assure you that it's worth the time if you are looking forward to the storyline. As for soloability, there's almost none.

If you feel like being uber and look really good and stuff, prepare to invest another 1 year or so to get the "God" armors or your Dynamis AF armor. As for the "God" weapons, it's unlikely that you'll be able to get it since it'll cost you roughly about 100-150 million gils. smile.gif

Also, making money in this game is a major pain in the butt at lower levels (70 and below). Unless you are lucky to get into HNM(Hyper Notorious Monster) Linkshell, there's almost no way to make 1 million gil a day. Best I can make is about 100k/hr with my fishing skill at lvl 100.

If you are going to craft to make money, be prepared to spend more than you can make. Crafting besides fishing at FFXI is a money loss unless you make a High Quality item. Sometimes, the items to craft can also be broken thus rendering you having 100% loss. This applies to crafters who are looking forward to make armors like Scorpion Harness(bonecraft) or Haubergeon(smithing with goldsmith sub). You'll roughly lose 1.5mil gil (depending on your server) for losing such items.

When it comes to how "uber" your stuffs is, be prepared to face gil buying competitors (especially the Americans). Most of the time, you'll lose to them because they buy their gil at such cheap price.

Oh, also, if you are serious about partying, you might want to group up with Japanese for exping. Though it's going to be *really* hard for you because Japanese party with Japanese onry tongue.gif (you can get lucky sometimes) Americans, well.. 80% of them are idiots 10% AFK every 10 minutes 5% leave you without notice 5% are good players.

Unless you are prepared to spend 3 years of your time (like me) doing nothing but play FFXI, there's going to be very little chance of you doing anything much in FFXI legitemately. Of course, you can always buy gil at http://www.ige.com and twink your way up to 75 in less than 3 months. tongue.gif

Zilart Mission 8 NPC is one of the easiest to defeat in ZMs. tongue.gif He just constantly erase your hate way.. That's all. The hard one in ZM would be the Ark Angel... *shudder*

The hardest to fight imho, would be Promathia and Tenzen for storyline. smile.gif

As for the REALLY hard to fight NPC, it's Kirin so far. Takes about 1 hour - 2 hours to fight him... with the Ranger nerf, it doesn't help much either too.

Sorry, no pictures.. I've also uninstalled and unsubscribed to my account. Took my life, education and everything away.

aaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! i wanna go back into the game........
does anyone have a japanese copy of the game? not asking for the cd key tho... Im looking for the jpn ver. of COP
*
why would u want the jpn copy? to type in jp? if so, just use windower + ime plugin. If you are looking for the Jpn copy to read the storyline in JP, then u just need the JP POL CD.. u can have NA FFXI + RoZ + CoP also doesn't matter. It'll show in JP still.

Treasure of Aht Uhgan... pls...

Update: Got it. Playing it atm.. apparently Al Zahbi is the new Jeuno. Since you can warp from Al Zahbi to Jeuno. Big area too.. bigger than Ironforge and more confusing than Stormwind. High level content though.

where did u order and how come so fast reach u ,,, so jealous.  rclxub.gif

www.cdromshop.com using DHL ... ^^v

Assault is fun too but you gotta go get all your staging points before you can do all the rest. Mission 2 would only give you 1 staging points. You get very little exp, like 30-50 (no cap Assault) per kill but you also get rewards like BCNM when you win. In order to get the new set armors, you got to have 20 000 Assault points for 1 type of armor. Different Assault area, different type of armor.

Haven't played besieged yet, but the update will ensure beastmen raise faster so.. I assume next week Al-Zahbi is going to get attacked.

I've also unlocked all the jobs.. Puppetmaster is definately for soloist, but I doubt it's useful end-game. Blue mage is cool... they can tank too! But it's a pain because if you're the type that's a haijin and level really fast, you'll be super gimp! Corsair is the new bard! They even have refresh!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

Other than that, all the new areas are EP-IT to 75. Good area for level 50-75 to level up too. Scary mobs though.. Chigoes basically can rip a ninja apart so fast.

Yeah, 21USD.. but I ordered 2 copies of the game since my gf is also playing FFXI.. so basically, it's only RM160 for a copy which is okay price.

Anyway, sorry can't join you all in Lakshimi. I've been a resident of Quezty since 2003 and have multiple 75 jobs there already. smile.gif

For motivational purposes only. ^^ This if for the new guys who's going to start FFXI.. If you are persistant enough, you may get to the point you'll do so much and see so much. This is one of the hardest fight in Chains of Promathia. Basically, you have to kill Omega & Ultima to see this cutscene.
