Gais, is there any shop that provides overall cleaning survis for compacts?

Would they charge reasonably?

I am holding off my purchase until they come out with GPS function.

should i get this, or the xz1

I have a S90 (well.. partly anyway since its with the missus all the time).... a dslr and recently a XZ-1.

If you shoot RAW, at crappy light and getting a 2nd/3rd cam... the XZ-1's seriously capable.

If shooting full auto, convenience as in can fit into jeans pocket.... or if you don't know f4.9 to f2.5 is how many stops... then get the S95.

If video is important or you want the 24mm wide angle.... then consider the LX5

If tilt LCD = camwhoring is most important... or if you wanna be seriously uncool ... then maybe the Samsung EX1

If you know who is Daido Moriyama..  shoots only "artistic" B&W's...a purist by heart... consider the Ricoh GRDIII

Can't go wrong with anyone of these.

To elaborate more on my previous post.... S90/95 is the one to get if the person wants to use it like a point and shoot or doesn't wanna fuss about too much.

XZ-1 holds more fine details and contrast even at higher ISO in its RAW files but have to really work to get it.

All of the cameras takes good pictures

i don think it is suitable to put in a pocket.
my experience is i put my camera and bottle into my bag, and the bottle leak then....
so i need it to protect it...

I canot find this one amazon.com...

XZ-1 in my opinion has better hardware... while the jpeg processing in the Canon is better.

But ya... for convenience.. S90/95 is THE true compact... much more pocketable.

ps: DSLR (even entry ones) are a different ballgame altogether.. none of the compacts come close.

"Better" camera just higher image quality niah... doesn't guarantee quality image wan.

Tks for that, based on your result, i assume an empty 8gb card can record up to 60minutes clip only, which i think is too less.
May i know do we have any option on camera to lower down video quality and prolong the recording time?

I originally started looking for a GPS camera and was looking at the Panasonic TZ10/20 but came to conclusion I needed a more compact camera with better low light ability and not telephoto. Hence was looking at S95 and 4000IS but they don't have GPS. I will probably re-look at the next generation S95 if they have GPS.

I can not consider your iPhone because it does not have the type of GPS package that Nokia has, namely, free worldwide map and voice navigation.
