I am not going already. Final decision made. So complicated and since this is 1st time, there will be more coming up next and would be even better.
Lack of information, and kinda blur on interpret the information. On the other hand, carrying my noob CPU just wanna play SC2 tournament (seriously I don't even care about the PC custom thing event because my spec is not even qualify with Intel too and my INTENTION to participate cause of SC2, just SC2) travel by ride the public transport is totally risky for me. Imagine I take 3-5 hours trips all the way up. Man... With that heavy things, shaking around in the bus or platform, i afraid I reach the venue and my HDD is down cause of shaking. Oh ya, let say I reach Butterworth and going to take ferry to reach Penang island, how incredible with crowd of people and I may face robber since my both hand holding the CPU and they could just rob me off easily. Who ask me so poor? I am out. Good Luck to the participant. |

Hi fellas,
Thanks for sharing your views and thoughts of this event. We, along with Intel plan to make this a hassle free experience for you as well. However, circumvent to some inevitable implementations, had caused some mishaps for your gaming pleasure. We will rally our ideas across for the FTZ Asia.net (Subang Jaya, 17th September) to make the R&R more clear and fairly reinstated. Once more, you guys show a lot of enthusiasm and fervor - and we hope you can join at FTZ Asia.net Subang Jaya! Apart from that, Laptops has little room for customization to be eligible for the Best Customized PC Category. If you opt to bring your CPU and it cannot run on High res, even if the rules states that you must, our marshals will still permit you to play without any disqualification. However if your CPU can run on high res, we will advise you to certainly do so. One of the reasons this is being done is so that Intel can professionally monitor your CPU for the "Best Customized PC Category" to view your overall performance and Intel Processor workrate. |

QUOTE(xShinji @ Aug 26 2010, 03:51 PM) ou SMM hi again xShinji,u dint my answer my question .... Can i borrow other CPU for SC2 event? (my laptop do able to play in "high" reso...just prefer low ) You will need to bring your own CPU (*customized) to entitle yourself to participate in both categories. By borrowing someones else CPU defeats the purpose of a Customize. Build. Play gaming party that Intel strives for. |

Some people really don't get the point. The sponsors (Intel/SMM/Razer/WD/etc, in this case here) don't spend all that effort organizing, paying out prizes, paying marshals, renting the venue, etc for nothing. They do it their way by supporting the SC2 community as a whole while promoting their products along the way, which is why there's something called a marketing budget, and be grateful that they would spend it on SC2.
Why the customize casing contest and bring your CPU along? Because Intel wants to bring out their brand, connect the Intel community together by merging PC customizing and gaming (SC2) together, which further helps them promote their brand name. The same goes with Razer and others. Why would you, a Starcraft 2 gamer care? Because if there are no marketing opportunities, no company would care enough to give out a big prize pool for a Starcraft 2 tournament. Maybe we should just play in all those online tournaments without any prize money then. Either that or learn to appreciate. That being said, the execution of the event itself is another different story and we shall see. A Penang tournament though, is organized for Penang SC2 gamers to participate in the first place. If anyone has trouble coming from KL I really don't think it's the organizer's problem. Cheers This post has been edited by chiam_ace: Aug 27 2010, 03:57 AM |

So if my CPU brand is Intel but not customised, is it eligible to join this contest? Or I just need to strip out everything from the PC and just bring only the CPU to the contest?
