Since I had a scary experience, just thought to share this with others. The sequence is right with the posting quoted below.
I am from LeeDroid 1.9a. I went through my Application list one by one. Some had "Move to SD" grayed out but some is selectable. I moved all that is selectable to SD. Then I hit the Quick System Info app and my machine hang, went crazy, could not move. I had to restart with POWER + VOL DOWN + TRACKBALL but it never boot pass the HTC screen (At this part, I appreciate NextSense because of that Nexus One boot screen, I KNOW the phone is moving!) On LeeDroid 1.9a, it just hang at the HTC white screen for more than 10 minutes. I didnt know if it was booting in the background or its stuck. So, I took out the battery and power it up. It continue to stuck in the HTC screen again for 10 minutes. I couldnt wait, so I took out battery again. I power up for the third time and went into recovery. I flashed the LeeDroid 1.9a again, hoping that all my applications will be intact. I waited for the installation and then waited for it to go into the Rom for the first time. It's usually a longer wait. It did get in this time. All my data and system settings are in place. I went to Market and found ALL the apps I selected to "Move to SD" has been uninstalled. It shows FREE on market, indicating it has not been installed and I have the option to install if I want to. I was out with my family so i didnt want to tinker with the phone. I hit the power button to shut down. Then after dinner, I power it back up. I left it the way it is because I went for a movie. When I came out and checked, on Market, all my apps that has been moved "Move to SD" showed INSTALLED. So this is pretty freaky. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the ext3 partition, the sdcard itself or LeeDroid rom. It didnt happen with other rom but I did encounter during restore before, that was with LeeDroid 1.9a too. Possibly I just have no luck with this rom. I am tempted to go back to Nextsense 7.0 but am too lazy to go through all the hassle again. Should I? QUOTE(Pennywise @ Aug 25 2010, 06:44 PM) I'm on Leedroid 1.9a. From setting > application > managed application. I moved some app to sd. Then phone hang. Cannot restart, stuck at htc screen. Flash rom again. Go to market, download xiia lite online radio app, phone restart on its own. Some app that I moved to sd appear as Free on market indicating its not installed. Download xiia again, phone restart again. Driving me up the wall. Wanna ask about modinstall app, can install to external. But which partition? Fat or ext3? Going back to nextsense for stability and battery life. QUOTE(samurai1337 @ Aug 25 2010, 07:41 PM) I don't really recommend the mod install location thing, as some apps don't support froyo a2sd yet but it forces the app to move to sd (it's fat32 btw), and end up not working the way it should. On the market issue, maybe you can try market doctor in titanium backup and see if it helps QUOTE(Pennywise @ Aug 25 2010, 07:53 PM) QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Aug 25 2010, 08:07 PM) just a simple tip, in case u cant restart ur phone in case of hang and u r lazy to pull out battery, just press trackball + volume down + power button.. ur phone will restart, no need to open up case then take out battery..
