Most likely you fall under "High Exposure" category therefore needing additional documents to support your application.
*
How do they assess credit exposure by only seeing the customer's face? biggrin.gif

At first the staff persuaded me to take CIMB WMC without asking for my IC, existing cc and income document. But I said I only wanted DA VI. Then she asked me to take CIMB VI instead. I insisted taking DA VI. She then said I should take both DA WMC and VI as they are free for life. I reiterated I only needed DA VI. She then requested my degree certificate and income statement. That was done on Sunday.

Inconsistency at both the Pavillion credit card centre and their credit card centre HQ is the problem. Different staff will request or tell you different things.
*
Also, if you apply for the card at their HQ at Damansara Heights now, I am pretty sure that you won't be able to get the leather gift.

QUOTE(rockefeller @ Sep 27 2010, 10:05 PM)
DA requires at least professional qualification or degree right?
*
For DA, degree certificate is a must. They don't even accept a diploma certificate.

Where else has this promotion at the moment besides their credit card centre at Pavillion ? For the World MasterCard.
*
Damansara Heights. They may not need your income document but there is not leather gift in Damansara Heights. The 1-hour instant card approval promotion is until 30/9.

Argh ... won't be back in KL until mid-Oct. Never mind. Try it when the opportunity comes next time  biggrin.gif  They used to have 1-hour instant card approval a while ago too at Pavillion. Therefore i am sure this won't be the last. Just not sure if they would still accept a HSBC credit card with a mere RM30k credit line then. See how it goes ... Thanks though  biggrin.gif
*
It looks like you want the card desperately despite having not much benefit from it. Anyway, CIMB has just opened a new centre in Sunway Pyramid. I guess they will be having the similiar promotion in Sunway Pyramid as well as the new CIMB Corporate HQ in Menara Bumi Commerce at Jalan Raja Laut very soon.

Yes. Not going to deny that i want the card badly. Every time i shop at all these stores that have promotion specially for CIMB Bank credit cardholders only but the bad news is i do not have one. I have missed so many rebates or free cash voucher such as :
- charge RM90 at MPH, get x% rebate + free voucher (**promotion expired)
- 5% off at ISETAN (**promotion expired)
- 5% off at Guardian
- up to 20% off at Starbucks
- 5% off at Servay & Parkwell

There are many more but i just couldn't recall all now. I can save so much money if i have their card. In fact, when i was at KLIA last week. I saw this banner that CIMB World MasterCard gets 15% off at the chocolate shops at KLIA while the rest of the CIMB MasterCards get 10%. I always buy many chocolates every time i pass through KLIA and i go to KL once a month. Imagine how much i'll save  doh.gif

Besides, CIMB Bank credit card is supported for many 0% IPP in the market too. This sure is good  smile.gif
*
You don't need to have a premium card like CIMB WMC to enjoy these benefits. Any CIMB/DA Platninum or Gold card can also give what you desire above all.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Sep 28 2010, 12:32 AM)
CIMB/DA VI only offers 0.5% cash back and 1% for overseas. I guess you going for the cash rebate instead of points which is a good move since the points have expiry date. Initially VI quite useless as not many promotions and only recently some offers previously for WMC is now also extended to VI.
*
I do agree that WMC always has more promotions compared to what VI offers. Nevertheless, I applied for DA VI not because of cash back or discount. It's because of a specific reason. See my post #1657 for explanation.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Sep 28 2010, 12:32 AM)
And another note, some shops staff don't know even know what DA is, and will say that offer only for CIMB  doh.gif  For example before Raya bought over RM100 books at MPH Subang Parade and the stupid girl said offer for CIMB only but not going to argue with her since I got RM20 vouchers from Subang Parade Management for spending at other merchants there.
*
It's true. I'd had a DA cc many years ago. It was issued under the former Southern Bank. Many merchants did not recognise DA.

I had encountered unfavourable experience with CIMB Bank on banking issues. The name CIMB is just not my cup of tea. I would rather take DA, even thought DA is now under CIMB Group.

QUOTE(rockefeller @ Sep 28 2010, 09:20 AM)
The WMC VI Pavilion Big Spender Promotion. You get free Chloe bags, Longines Watches etc depending on which month. Try googling it smile.gif
*
The biggest spenders at particular shops would win. The chance of winning for a normal cardholder is near zero.

CIMB is more generous, but not OCBC. If you do not spend much, it would be better not to have a high CL.

Yeah. I do need CIMB WMC. How so ? Because it's the only CIMB Bank MasterCard to give 2x bonus point for all transactions transacted in foreign currency. There are also promotions that only CIMB WMC are entitled for. That's not all, there are also promotions that CIMB WMC gets higher rebate. For instance, 15% off at the chocolate shop at KLIA versus 10% for all other CIMB MasterCards. A difference of a mere 5% might not seem huge but this won't be the case if you buy a lot. With the RM50 credit card service tax still in effect, of course i am after the best overall card and CIMB WMC fits my needs perfectly.
*
Many of us do not think CIMB WMC is the best cc in the market. As you are so tempted and fall for this card, just go for it. You may reapply for it a few months later. They have your data in their computer system showing the rejection, so it is not advisable to apply again within a short period. Next time, you may consider applying for DA WMC and they will generally welcome you if you can give them a copy of your degree certificate. Good luck.

The Autopay is going to take effective only in 2 months (Not sure why so slow for TNB), so in the meantime I don't wanna go to the TNB and pay.
*
Normally autopay for TNB will take effect within a month if you apply for it at Kedai Tenaga.

Oh no! SCB noticed that they actually gave more than RM600 per card per year last time and they have rectified it this time.

This time around, they gave me the exact RM600 rebate for the period of 1/7/10 - 30/6/11, even though my total spending could get RM620++. sad.gif

I should stop using SCB JustOne cc by now and use it again in July next year.

An update on the forex exchange rate when I used my cards in Shanghai 2 weeks ago.

OCBC cedit MC: Renminbi 1 = RM 0.4750
Alliance debit MC: Renminbi 1 = RM 0.4618*

* Note: I withdrew money from my Alliance debit card via ATM in Shanghai. There was a service charge of RM8 per transaction. The exchange rate above does not include the service charge.

It's only the guaranteed prize, iPod shuffle in July. As for the August contest, I have yet to receive the sms but I am pretty sure I will get another iPod shuffle as it is the guaranteed prize.

QUOTE(hye @ Sep 29 2010, 02:05 PM)
Maybe I'm rather upset coz I sent the SMS precisely @ the time but I received the confirmation like 45 minutes later. I really don't know how they manage the contest coz it look like got loophole.
*
There are hundreds of winners for the grand and first prizes. If you did send the sms at 9.00am sharp but still couldn't get the grand or first prize, I doubt who the actual winners are. I suspect they selected the winners based on spending amount, and this is against the T&Cs.

Same here. I think only iPod shuffle. I thought there is only one winner on both occasion, meaning, you win in July and August, but can entitled for one only. I'm also getting confirmation like 45 minutes later although the server should received by 9.00am sharp because I got the delivery status once I sent
*
If you read the T&Cs thoroughly, each cardholder is allowed to win a prize every month. I doubt who the real grand prize and first prize winners would be.

If you study the winners list for July and August carefully, it is so easy to spot so many repeat winners for the macbook grand prize and the notebook first prize. We could only manage to grab the consolation prize. Anyway, the consolation prize, iPod shuffle is actually the guaranteed prize.

Well, basically the purpose of me using that card is just to apply for Fitness Gym (they require monthly installment using credit card).
*
As long as the card is valid and is not blocked by bank, any cc can be accepted by your fitness centre.

I would suggest you to check with your respective fitness centre. Sometimes fitness centres tight up with certain banks for special promotions and packages for a specific period. If my memory serves me correctly, Alliance had worked with Clark Hatch, and SCB collaborated with True Fitness, on very attractives packages.

what is the credit limit for titanium? would it be possible to more than 20k credit limit?
*
It is possible to get a CL of higher than RM20,000 for OCBC Titanium MC, depending on your credit exposure. The CL they gave me is higher than my previous Alliance Platinum cc and Amex Gold cc but lower than my existing SCB Titanium cc.

QUOTE(CyberianHusky @ Oct 11 2010, 11:03 AM)
Cancelled the Maybankcard without activating, No RM50 tax charged. But why CIMB different ?
*
You are lucky then. Once you have signed and submitted the application form, you have already agreed with all the T&Cs. You can't treat cc application for "fun".

QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 11 2010, 01:38 PM)
Public Bank came out with a PB Double Bonus promotion (1 Oct 2010 to 28 Feb 2011).... giving away RM300,000 per month.

15% Cashback on weekday spending.
10% Cashback on weekend spending.
Maximum Cashback per month is RM100 per cardmember. [RM666 spend per month @15% / RM1000 spend per month @10%]
Chance to win a BMW/Honda/Nissan  blush.gif
*
History shows that PPB would take ages to give you the actual cash back or bonus points. But it is still much better than Amex!

I have viewed the second month statement of my OCBC Titanium. All the restaurant bills (including Coffee Bean), DiGi (auto debit), hypermarket (Tesco and Giant) and petrol expenses are all given 5% rebate. Hotel bill is however given 1% cash rebate. For your information, I spent quite a lot in restaurants and lounges in a hotel in Kota Kinabalu but everything was lumped into the hotel lodging bill. Next time I should pay the bills separately.

If spending at Coffee Bean is given 5% cash back, Starbucks should be the same too.

By the way, I subscribed autopay for DiGi, TNB, TM and Astro at respective outlets for quite some time already. So far only DiGi autopay has been effected and was given 5% cash back.
