Even during office hour and you need to call CS, they will put you on hold for a few minute. Then automatically transfer you to voice recording asking for number but before you can do so, the line cut.

Hopeless CS.

To be fair, I feel Alliance Platinum hotline is pretty good - very short waiting time.

I already redeem my ipod today...

But I was wondering whether its possible to get the new batch of ipod if we waited till the last date...
*
I also received the letter today. Where did you redeem the iPod shuffle? Pavilion or IOI Mall Puchong?

Today my OCBC Titatium arrived via normal post. Two damn weeks for it to arrive  vmad.gif Worst still, I had this card cancelled as I thought it has been lost in transit. Tomorrow got to go collect the new card at HQ doh.gif
*
Today I have already swiped the card at Tangs Departmental Store and Island Bistro at Pavilion, as well as ESSO petrol station. I feel so good as I do not need to teach the cashiers to select "credit" like SCB JustOne. I am eager to see what kind of cash back I get. smile.gif

QUOTE(ck3lam @ Sep 9 2010, 01:01 AM)
Ambank has just changed their terms and condition this month to get 20% cash back.
Just pump RM50 (Count in block) during weekends and you will get 20% cash back!
Of course there is always a cap. Max cash rebate is RM30 per month. Then switch to other card lo.

For groceries, spend RM100 and get RM20 rebate! Capped at RM50.

So basically you spend RM400 and get RM80!!! If combine with other cash rebate cards such as OCBC Ti Card, you can get more than a hundred cash rebate easily per month.

Mm...assuming you are spending 1.4k per month (Dining, petrol, groceries, bills) on average, you will get a total of RM130 cash rebate per month.  4 months (until end of 2010) will be RM520 saving!!

So if you are a big spender with 2.4k per month on average, you get a total of RM720 rebate for 4 months!!!
*
It's rather complicated. You ought to remember the promotion period, cumulative spending, cumulative cash back, denomination amount, types of spending, etc in order to be fully benefited.

QUOTE(alexwsk @ Sep 9 2010, 08:41 AM)
i meant some of the SCB redemption letters has wrong combination of name and address sweat.gif

That is only if you want to maximize the cash rebate benefit. If you are just using OCBC Ti card, it's hard for you to achieve that target. If you use only OCBC card for petrol and groceries, it will require you to spend 6.4k to achieve RM320 rebate compare to Ambank 1.6k (with rewards points somemore).
*
Do bear in mind that the cash back is only given to grocery and petrol purchases done during weekends. Besides, there is a maximum cash back poll of RM150,000 per month.

Just spotted OCBC cc roadshow at 1U. Anyone can share their CL received for their OCBC Titanium?
*
The CL they gave me is lower than my existing SCB JustOne Titanium, but higher than my previous Alliance Platinum. For your information, I used my salary information to apply for the card. I did not show them my existing cards.

I thought the iPod shuffle will be delivered to your doorstep? Need to redeem yourself one ah? But I guess if you redeem it yourself you are allowed to select the color, right?
*
I redeemed the 2GB iPod Shuffle at IOI Mall Puchong. They still have all the colours, but trendy colours are running out fast. I chose the green colour type.

I need to comment a bit. The 5% cash back on bills is not only for telephone bills, it also includes utility bills.

Just came back from holidays in overseas. I used my OCBC Titanium cc several times in overseas. I wonder whether my expenses in restaurants in overseas will earn me 5% cash back. Anyway, I am already prepared to get only 1% cash back for all expenses in overseas.

On a separate note, I have received the first statement from OCBC via snail mail. Luckily the payment due date is on the first day of each month, same as all my other CCs, without giving me any hassle to remember different dates. The cash back details, however, were stated as a slump sum amount for 1% and 5% each. I still prefer reading my SCB's statement, which shows the cash back earned for every single transaction.

Some merchants in overseas like China even impose 6% surcharge. I would either walk away or pay by cash if I come across these merchants.

Does the Shell card really gives you 1.5% cash rebate for other transactions? That rate is not too bad. Is there a monthly cash reabate cap for the Shell Card?
*
You need to carry forward balance in order to get the cash back. In the end, the interest you pay is bigger than the cash back you get.

Anyone receive offer letter from SCB on pre approved prefered banking and prefered world mastercard ?

(1) For prefered banking:
(i) maintain 72k deposit/investment, or
(ii) 400k house loan, or
(iii) annual income 72k, take up prefered world mastercard and open M2 account.

(2) prefered world mastercard:
(i) 2 years annual fee waiver
(ii) 30k choice point upon first use (to complement govt tax)

Since gold and plat cc is too common, any comment on this cc?
*
The benefit is not very attractive. It gives 1% cash back for all transactions if you monthly spending exceeds RM1,500 in total. With this cash back feature, no reward points will be given. One good thing is that there is no limit to the total cash back per month or annum.

My application for this card has been approved. I applied for it because I will perform a big swipe this month. The merchant does not accept Amex and my current SCB JustOne and OCBC Titanium come with cash back limit.

I only used my OCBC cc in overseas recently. I did however withdraw money via my Alliance debit card. I shall be able to make a simple comparison when the transactions are updated next few days.

Speaking of China, i really hope they will start issuing UnionPay card here in Malaysia. It makes payment in China much more convenient. BOC has started issuing UnionPay credit card in Singapore for quite sometime already.
*
Bank of China in Malaysia has actually issued China UnionPay prepaid card. You can top up money in Malaysia and use the card in China.

Oh ... are they still issuing the card ? Their Malaysian website isn't very helpful. In fact it is as if the website was designed in the early 90s compared to their Singaporean one. Really hope they will be more active in the local retail banking scene. Give us the consumers more choices  biggrin.gif
*
The card is still in the market. But you have to go the bank to buy the China UnionPay prepaid card. The card can also be linked to your savings account with BOC, where the prepaid reload can be done automatically if the amount of your card falls below a specific level.

Don't think so. You get 2x Choice Points when you charge more than RM1,500/month to your World MasterCard while their Platinum card gives you only 1x Choice Point regardless of total amount spent in any month.
*
Don't forget that SCB Business Platinum cc gives 0.5% cash back on all retail transactions (except petrol) on top of the normal choice points. Furthermore, SCB Business Platinum cc also gives 3x choice points for overseas transactions as opposed to 2x choice points given by Preferred Banking World MC.

Anyone can confirm If we already holding Standard Chartered Priority Banking VI, can we still apply for the Preferred Banking WMC?
Looks like the own staffs also blur with their own product, some told me need to cancel the VI then only can apply the WMC. Some told me actually can hold both card without problem.
Called their CS they are not sure, e-mail them and no reply. Ask the relationship manager they claim product to new, will get back to me once the management set the product guideline.  rclxub.gif
*
When I opened the Preferred Banking account in early September, SCB CS over both branch and telephone could not explain the product details to me. The branch did not even have the official application form for me to fill in.

Now my SCB World MC has been approved. I noticed the card was charged RM50 service tax on 8/9 and I have received the e-statement too. However, until today I have yet to receive the physical card yet. doh.gif

If you do not have the intention to use the card and pay the RM50 service tax in advance, why did you apply for it in the first place? It will be a different story if it is a pre-approved card which you did not apply for.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Sep 18 2010, 03:32 AM)
hmm that's new. When I called OCBC CS,  their answer was the rebate was based on statement month and not calendar month.

So if the statement date is 11th, then rebate from 12th this month to 11th next month = RM120
*
It's confirmed cash back is shown on the statement date for the entire statement month. With reference to the first statement I received, there are 2 types of cash back (1% and 5%) which are shown as lump sum amount separately.

This is better than Alliance Bank, where cash back in the current statement month will only be reflected on the following statement month. I encountered a long arguement with Alliance Bank on this matter when I cancelled my Alliance cc.

If use auto billing for digi, telekom, tnb, still eligible to get 5% cash back??
or only eligible pay on counter?

As long as it is classified as utility or phone bill, 5% cash back is valid regardless of where you pay the bill.
