If the pump says "Please see cashier for receipt"?  Also closed?

Have you seen those petrol pumps where the cc terminal is shared (1 cc terminal for many pump stations)?  meaning you use the terminal, press your pump number, select some choices (pump petrol, print receipt, etc), insert card, etc.  They never print the receipt automatically, you have to return to the terminal to select print receipt.  I wonder when the transaction closes...
*
Transaction closed already. Bro ... I will advise you to take those rumors spread via email or SMS with a pinch of salt. I have been using credit cards for years and never had this problem before. The only petrol station related problem was before the EMV system was introduced. If this is really a problem ... then it would have been a widespread problem already as many "Malaysians" will take advantage of this loophole to make money.

anyone holding citibank airasia cc ? does your annual fee got waived or not every year ?
*
With any Citibank cards, you need to call in to for AF waiver. Do remember this is a co-branded card, means the likelihood of an AF waiver is not 100%. If they charge you and you don't want to pay then just cancel the card. Today's cc market is competitive so don't be so hard up unless you are a die hard fan of this particular card.

how good alliance bank cc in term of their services like 0% installment plan, promo @ rebate n etc ?? smile.gif
*
0% installment plan limited. You'll stand a better chance with MBB, Citibank.
Rebate ... not the most attractive if you were to compare with SCB JustOne or OCBC Titanium.

Bro @maru ... banks are commercial entities. Everyone here need to understand that at the end of the day, their objective is to make money so there'll always be a limit to the amount of rebate cc providers will want to offer. If you are expecting like 8% / 10% rebate from your spending then dream on.

The most seen today is 5% on petrol spending and do remember banks make about less than 2.5% from your retail transaction. (There's also some percentage paid to VISA/Mastercard International) So where is the rest coming from ? Likely you are taking it from the poor souls who have cc debt with the bank. (Interest 17%-18% per annum)

Instead of the CIMB MC Worldcard and VISA Infinite, I believe the MBB's offering is better but I doubt so they will waive the AF.

If MBB have a promo for this card, I think it is worth considering.

want to ask about the unlimited access to KLIA lounge

i read the fine prints for the ocbc titanium and it say the flight charge must be billed to the cc.... how if we wbook thru tour agency or matta fair? still can enjoy the access to klia lounge?

and it also stated 50% discount for travelling companion...meaning if wife also masuk must pay 50%? not free
citibank platinum both can masuk rite?
*
You need to book tickets in a total of RM3000 or more. However, you need to check the T&C carefully ... I remembered that one bank requires you to book the ticket through their designated travel agency to enjoy this travel privileges. (And I don't remember which one)
Wife masuk must pay 50% of the stated fee. If your wife holds another card which entitles access to the lounge then she's entering on her own ticket and not yours. Do note that the access to the Plaza Premium Lounge KLIA and LCCT may be subjected to a monthly quota.

I saw the direct access worldcard today.. walao, not classy at all one le... is like a normal cheap plastic card.. no shining shining effect like platinum card.. if people dunno what is world card, they might think this is classic card lo...

why now sound like everyone qualify to apply worldcard dy.. few months back only everyone saying word card very high class now like all plat can upgrade dy.. haha

the maybank worldcard got shining like platinum card or also like cimb world card le.. I think too plain lo.. at least give a little glossy lo.., haha
*
People who can reach this stage are not to bothered whether the card look classy or not. They can get the card (or equivalent) anywhere and anytime.
The word "World Mastercard" and "VISA Infinite" carry its own weight.

MBB WMC.
wow, RM 1000 annual fees.. any chance that they are going to waive it??
*
If they even make the AF lesser then it is worthwhile considering.
I'm tempted by the 5 -> 1 Enrich points conversion factor. Other banks is generally 6 -> 1.
However their lounge does not have a worldwide coverage.

I agree. Just submitted my Titanium application today.
The person who attended to me initially thought I want to ask for a CL upgrade but was totally shocked shocking.gif when I asked for only a small credit limit. (As most in this forum mentioned that, card is good for small spending)

Is it possible to specifically ask for a lower CL when applying for a cc?

I have asked for a lower CL before with Alliance. No objections, it is when you asked for higher CL it is going to be a problem.

citibank cc no good?
*
It depends on what you want. You can't get everything ... good rebates but no points and vice versa.
Only you can answer whether Citibank is good or not - did it meet your expectations and spending patterns ? If not then consider another card, otherwise be happy with what you have.

*
Not sure about HSBC RM30K limit but definitely you are going to need 12 months on your HSBC card. And .... there's a strong chance they will check for your RM200K p.a income.

Thank you @tgeoklin, I share your opinions as well.
The newer generation are just too gung-ho about CL, card upgrade, EZ Payments, etc. I worry about these developments as it could possibly indicate denial about the ACTUAL responsibility when using a credit card.

Back then I had to wait for a good 6 months to 1 year before being eligible for applying a credit card. These days they want the card right away from starting work on the pretext of "emergency purposes" and not realizing the danger of using credit card to survive.

any chances for those who earn below 36k per annum to get ocbc titanium or not ?

Unlikely ... OCBC is well known to be tight on their approving criteria.
You need to use alternative method to get approval ... e.g. Pledge FD as collateral.

how to apply for Citibank Online ID?

previously I have an ID, but I cancelled the card, now I reapply.

Am I consider First Time Login now?

how to get Credit Card ATM PIN ?
*
You need cc ATM PIN. Did you receive it before ? Or did you receive it and throw it away ?
If you can't find it, call the CS and asked for a new one. It will take up to a week to receive it via mail, any faster you need to collect it from Citibank Jalan Ampang yourself.

0% installment is not applicable to everything you buy.

Smart Flexi-Pay Plan offers 0% installment for insurance, education and hospital transactions only.
While Smart i-Pay Plan charging 2%/4%/5% for any other transactions that converted to installment.
*
Yup ... for CIMB, please take note that you will be paying for the interest.
Under normal condition, the merchant pays for the installment fees to the bank. As you are going direct then the consumer pay to the bank.

hi all sifus here

i am looking for a credit card to use.
my salary is 3k+

i had applied for 1 AMEX
I plan to apply Sony Card but i found out that it has "expired" which means i cant apply for it anymore

Please advise me on which card should i get. A lot of people recommend me Citibank. But they are unable to provide me the reason why i should choose citi over others

any sifus can give their opinion here? biggrin.gif
*
Choosing a credit card to use is very individualistic. Different people have different purpose and spending pattern.
None of us here can answer that question except your own self. "Sifu's" would stay away from answering this question because they understand this.
Reading the thread will give you possible choices to your needs and please do not use the "lazy to read" as an excuse.

CC is a financial tool which you need to make your own choices and decisions. Period.

*
Often is you get rejected, it is because you fall under the "risky" category. You will fail the application from any bank.
If for technical reasons e.g. documentation ... often the respective bank will call you to clarify / resubmit the documents.

Certain bank e.g. HSBC / PBB are very sensitive to the number of cards that you hold. So they will reject you although you are not risky.

Guys,

For OCBC Titanium application using FD, Do we need to go ourself to get the stamp duty? Or just pay to the bank and they will get it settle. Anyone knows?

Bcos just now the bank agent called me up after a week, and asking me to come and collect the agreement back and go to the Lembaga hasil to get it stamp. All this while is his mistake because he forgot about the stamp duty and only realize it by today.

Sigh....
*
They are supposed to do it for you. The guy just wanted to cover his mistake and asking you to do it.
If I were you, I will take back my FD and ask another branch to do it for me or ask to speak to his superior about this mistake.

End story up to you but do realize the hassle to get that Setem Hasil.

There is a lot of local cc issuers who uses Poslaju as the courier service. Why? Simple, they are the cheapest in town and they also offer a facility where only you can collect the card. (Recipient name need to match their record and cannot use 3rd party to collect)

While I do agree HSBC service has gone down slight as compared to before but perhaps the problem lie with the courier provider as well. Contrary ... my experience with HSBC has been positive but I have cancelled this card a few years ago as their promotion are limited as compared to other cc providers. (I cancelled around the time where there were news that they let go of a lot of CS in Malaysia)

To be fair, I have had my share of horror stories in the past with cc issuers and both local and foreign banks are culprits. However, I would acknowledge that the experience would differ from person to person as the level of personal expectations and tolerance differs.

If I am asked what is the card to avoid - AEON
* Myself lost money when they refuse to acknowledge a payment which I have made to them. (Lucky is it just a small amount) Checked with my friends and a few of them encountered the same thing. I will never return to this card ever!
