I have some York air-cons in the office. I would say it is average in quietness (on low or med speed). Rather loud if on max.

One approach is, turn on aircon at med or max maybe 30 mins before movie. To pre-chill the room. Then when watching movie turn to low for quietness (hopefully can maintain cool temp).

Some AC will have a whisper/quiet/sleep mode. I know my Hitachi from 2006 has it but the latest ones I have do not have it anymore. sad.gif

daikin not bad, if u plan go for it, dun get frm the dealer (there is only one authorized dealer in s'wak, and the price is stiff), get frm the installer instead, cheaper.

My house have Panasonic and Electrolux A/C, both are quite in medium fan speed and in full fan speed it noisy bit. Is quietness of an A/C is depend in the fan speed we set right?

Agree with him. I'm currently using Daikin inverter (2.0hp and 1.5hp) and both of the them are fairly quiet when I turn them on. You should give Daikin some thoughts.
