Cukai Taksiran (Assessment Charges) paid to DBKL or majlis bandaraya or majlis perbandaran is for the Local Authority in your area to take care of your town eg. roadside sweeping, cut down trees, repair streetlights....

Quit Rent is paid to the Land Office (Pejabat Tanah & Galian)....this is because all lands belongs to the State/Goverment so we have to pay to the State for owning the property which is erected on the land.

Do anyone have any knowledge on this? I'm a new subsale property owner and i just stayed for 1 month until I receive the notice "Membayar Tunggakan Kadar" from DBKL which ask the owner of my house address to pay almost RM950 of the outstanding amount.

1. Should the previous owner settle the outstanding amount?
2.what if previous owner do not settle the quit rent and assessment ?
3. What if seller still dont want to settle ?

did you get a lawyer to represent you as he is supposed to check to make sure all outstanding assessment and quit rent are paid by the previous owner?

go to dbkl and register yourself as the new owner - give them a copy of the relevant pages of your SPA..

just reconfirm with dblk but I believe you are not responsible for previous amounts owing by the ex owner..

Lawyer supposed to do apportionment of taxes to be paid by both buyer and seller. You are supposed to pay those taxes from the date of vp . Prior to vp the seller supposed to pay.

Could somebody tell me how to provide Quit Rent receipt for condo?
We pay to condo management then condo management pay to land office on behalf of us.

This is for bank loan application purpose.

Does the bank accept receipt from condo management or do they require receipt from land office?

I just found out that you have to go to the DBKL department in Bangunan TH Perdana to change the name of the owner, if you are the new owner of a property. Do not go to the DBKL building along Jalan Raja Laut.

I'm the new sub-sale owner since Dec2015 and I went to Bangunan TH to change to my name on 26/1/16.
At the time i change name, the first half year bill already issued out under previous owner name and account number.
Shall I pay the bill or wait for the second half year accumulated bill to come? Bcoz I'm worried if i pay now it will goes to wrong account. Can I know the new account number is it same as previous or different?

I receive a notis peringatan to pay my cukai taksiran , a red colour form but the name still previous owner.

What will be impact if i not pay or pay partially. Will the bandaraya really come to sita my house. A bit worry when one day i cant enter my house.

Can someone advice? My amount hutang not too high 1000++ but receive warning letter

Recommend to pay up as local council has been stepping up effort to collect overdue even though not in your name
