QUOTE(seventy @ Sep 19 2010, 08:12 AM) Is it me or the wifi in iPad is really slow. Especially when I am in video streaming apps like YouTube and Dailymotion. Do you guys know how to overcome this issue? u mean the video that u stream will be lagged? I think that has something to do with your internet connection speed right? |

Some of u mention that utube vids are unable to play at flipboard but so far i dun encounter such prob yet.
Added on September 20, 2010, 1:54 amJust curious. Why can we only stream youtube vids on youtube app and not on youtube website? The search function at youtube app is too horrible bcos the results i got are nog what i want. This post has been edited by bidfordun: Sep 20 2010, 01:54 AM |

after having the ipad for some time, i must say there are some flaws that i hope apple can manage to overcome with the next revision.
1. ipad kinda takes some tolls at my hands after holding it for an extended period. keep the size, but not the weight apple, make it lighter! 2. copy and paste is so hard and practically useless in the current os. hopefully next time we can copy and paste like we are used to when using window. but i need to applaud apple for some great features that ipad has. 1. impressive battery life...for now. Not sure if it can hold up that much once multitasking is available, but the battery life so far is just marvelous and nothing to complain. charging time is very fast also, kudos to apple. 2. abundant apps at disposal. practically you can find everything you want i think. hmm, are we gonna see microsoft office at app store soon? if that materializes, im sure people will be ditching apple iwork for it. |

Err, that isnt the meaning im trying to convey. When u quoted my message to reply me, my message was too long so the quote bubble will only show fraction of the messsage. On pc, when we see the quote bubble, we can click on an arrow sign in the quote bubble to reveal the rest of the message while i dont think it is possible to do this when using ipad.

I used safari n atomic full version to view this n i still cant manage to see the rest of the message. Worse, this kinda hampers the experience when i search for a certain forumer message and i ended up with fragment kf messages without the ability to view the whole message.
U wil get kt when u try to use ur ipad and login to any thread and use the search button. Often the results u wil be get is those fragmented messages and u wont be able to view full messages. Another problem i notice is regarding im app. Im using im plus and to my dismay one of the important im program fuction is to pop out a bubble telling someone has just online. This doesnt happen and it is kinda hard to see whoever online later when i use other appw. Hopefully This will be addressed once ios 4 is available. |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Sep 22 2010, 06:13 PM) Click the Quote button, and once it loads into the Reply message page, tap and hold your finger to the message window, the magnifying circle will come out, then you drag to the end of each line to scroll to the next line and so forth. It is possible. The other solution is to get an iPad Stand and keyboard, that'll will enable full laptop-like features like Command-A for copy-all function, etc. Bro u need to shiw me ur beejive next time, hehe. It's push notification, not popup. I had not used IM+ after I've grown comfortable with Beejive, which IMO is the better IM app, Beejive does convey push notification when someone in your list just came online. Anyway, for the first reply, i think it does not help for me. You were guiding me to copy and paste right? The answer im looking for is to view complete quoted message in the reply. Still looking how to do it or else search function is no longer useful when using ipad. |

QUOTE(weiyap_tan @ Sep 23 2010, 08:56 AM) Yup, regarding battery life, there is knly macbook pro which may challenge it. Some acer timeline model and asus laptop claimed to be able to do as long as iPad, but the spec is rather to slow even for comfortable browsing. Netbook is kinda too slow as well. converting is so time consuming. i hope vlc player can get better in the future, i dont wanna go through any unnecessary video conversion anymore.Added on September 23, 2010, 8:58 am I have tried it as well. But come to think of thyt the screen resolution is 1024x768. We dun really need to have full hd video running on it, and as well might use up more battery life. I prefer to convet them b4putting into my iPad This post has been edited by bidfordun: Sep 23 2010, 09:27 AM |

QUOTE(TechnoDude94 @ Sep 23 2010, 08:31 PM) If you plan to stream videos from your hard disk directly to your iPad. I will definitely recommend Air Video but you'd require a capable router, i resort to using a 300Mbps Wireless-N router to stream my videos from my MacBook's hard disk wirelessly/OTA. I wud recommend zumocast ae it is free.Yes, you can share your internet from your Maxia USB Wireless Broadband Dongle. I am not so sure how to do it on Windows but its called "Ad-Hoc". I do it on my MacBook easily through "Internet Sharing" in "System Preferences. I would suggest that you get a "Mi-Fi" though. You share your internet from your iPhone to your iPad but your iPhone has to be jailbroken and an app called "MyWi 4.0 has to be bought and installed through Cydia. Its called "tethering". I recommend shutting down your iPad everyday, preferably at night when you're asleep. This is to clear the RAM of the iPad. Thats just my theory. -Sent from my iPad @ Pantai Hospital.- |

QUOTE(sws @ Sep 24 2010, 12:28 PM) For those who wanna watch rmvb file format in ur iPad, download zumocast, and download the movie from ur computer and u can watch it anywhere u go!:D not sure bout .mkv file thou. downloading movie from ur pc is very time consuming, and the worst thing is the download wont run when we are streaming movies from our pc or we close the app. Added on September 24, 2010, 1:36 pm QUOTE(dinodog_Jr @ Sep 24 2010, 12:39 PM) I tested the VLC player.. It need time to improve everything.. Too many issues... Hopefully the next updates would fixes all major issues. yeah agree on that, watching movies will be a breeze once vlc player is perfected.Even Avi format it can crash the apps... I don't know what can i do with VLC player at the moment. Give myself a rest from that . Will check out Zumocast...Hooray for RMVB..! Added on September 24, 2010, 1:39 pm QUOTE(S2000- @ Sep 24 2010, 12:55 PM) I was wondering how come Msia do not have IPad (Officially by Msia MAC Store)? dont bet on it, i dont think resellers would be willing to sell it cheaper than the singapore price or else they are not making profit. or maybe u can see if someone is selling a preowned unit? Appreciate your reply. Guess I need to get one from Spore then. Jus checked online MAC SPore selling at SGD1228 for IPAD 64G WIFI+3G. Lets say after conversion (* 2.4) is ard RM2947.20. Possible to get cheper than this at LYN Garage Sale section and it comes with locked or unlocked version? Thanks. QUOTE(S2000- @ Sep 24 2010, 09:58 AM) Hi, Im newbie here. Would like to ask Ipad 64G 3G how much sold in Msia and where can I buy from? Went to MAC store yday and they do not have stock. IF get from Spore or USA, can it run the 3G using our local telco support i.e. Maxiz, Digi n etc? price you can check in garage sales, roughly la ... (use search engine at bottom there) i m using Singapore set, can run digi 3G here.... US set also same i think. however based on the current conversion, if you can manage to get hold of one unit in usa or hk, the price shud be cheaper than singapore unit. QUOTE(shevagol @ Sep 24 2010, 02:02 PM) Thinking about buying 16gb wifi tonite. I look forward to use it for my emailing, browsing, minor gaming, IM-ing,watching .avi tv series and store some picture albums. Here are my few concerns before buying, hope all you genius here will help me to answer: 1) not sure bcos i nvr store pictures in ipad nor having a mac.1) Will iTunes compress the pics before transfering it from MacBook to iPad? (If not, i think 16gb is not enuf) 2) i read about IM+ is the best app for IM-ing. If i chose to use YM, does OS 3.2.2 support notification when i close the app? 3) Can the mail apps store more than 200 mails per acc? I love to have my email backup on iPad for offline viewing. (iphone only store 200 recent mails pop3 mail) Thanks in advance!! 2) some said beejive while the rest are gravitating towards im+. Im using im+ lite(free version) and I will receive push notification for any messages i receive when i close the app. However, do note that for lite version the active time is only 2 hours and it also doesnt support skype. Also push notification of someone appearing online is possible as well on the im+ lite but you need to set it manually for every contact if you wish to see push notification for every contact. Not sure if the purchased version or beejive have similar problem. for me it is quite troublesome but you can access to internet while using im+ bcos there is a browser with im+ if you wish to see whoever online without closing the app. 3. I checked the setting, maximum is 200 emails only. |

QUOTE(sws @ Sep 24 2010, 03:16 PM) Downloading movies from zumocast requires only like 30 min for a 700mb rmvb movie. To me it's still ok, not really THAT time consuming. And u can watch it anywhere u wan after that. Just leave it there for download. For me that is time consuming bcos it is much faster when i use usb cable to teansfer a file that big. Plus online streaming is kinda useless also. At first i tot i can stream the video even if my lappy is off. But when i figure out e pc must be on when i wanna stream online that seems a lil pointless bcos if the lappy is on i might as well watch it on my laptop. |
