QUOTE(ArianneG @ Oct 12 2010, 11:48 PM) Add another RM40, get the Shroom EB, very nice. More clarity compared to Hippo Pearl. Of course, best way to find out what suits you is to go to Jaben and test kaw kaw. I see. QUOTE(rxy @ Oct 12 2010, 11:48 PM) By the way, Jaben only open in Subang? |

Normally , i listen to those normal artist song and dislike listening to rock song although once in a while i did listen to them. SO may i know shall i buy IEM with bass or without bass? QUOTE(jinggothegreat @ Oct 18 2010, 04:56 PM) btw, as bro daemon says, "balance is pow4h!" http://www.sony.com.my/product/mdr-ex300sl http://www.sony.com.my/product/mdr-xb40ex That's why i'm kind of confused. >.< QUOTE(walabies @ Oct 18 2010, 05:12 PM) Bass types. Yeah, my friend told me that without bass usually more detail oriented. >.< @.@On the other hand, u also have to have some level of bass, who wants a music with no bass at all, the bass makes your heart thumping, keeps u in the rhythm of music and most of all makes the music more interesting to listen. As daemon says, balance is the powah. Choosing on what u like is tough, u gotta listen to a lot and filter out what u don't like. |

QUOTE(TeOtq @ Oct 18 2010, 07:30 PM) u should try er4p then u will knw u like bass o not. I'm currently not staying in Subang, so kind of difficult to get to Jaben and try 1 by 1 . >.< and also u will knw what is quality bass and "ah beng" type fo bass. QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Oct 18 2010, 07:34 PM) Yeah, usually that's the case. I think you might prefer an IEM with a warm sound signature. Not bassy, but have this very soft sound. I see. You owned a lot of different type of IEM ^^ May i know how much does the Shroom EB cost? The only warm sounding IEM I've tried is the Soundmagic PL50/PL30 and Sony's MDR EX-500/EX300, also Bose Triport in ear(but we'll skip that hunk of junk). I've owned the Sonys for over a year and didn't quite like the sound. Vocals are recessed and somehow the bass, although thumping didn't sound quite right. A bit foggy and muddy. From the Soundmagic however, the bass isn't thumping, but the sound is warm, and the bass is tight. You get treble energy too, and detail is above average for the price. I also like the Shroom EB. I like it a lot actually. There's neutrality with it. The bass is enough, and you can feel it sometimes. It is a bit brighter sounding but never ear piercing even at high volumes, I like the treble, sparkly. I use the Gumstick with the Shroom EB and the Sony EX-300. EB wins hands down and priced quite identical. Haven't tried other Hippo but planning on buying the Hippo 10 or VB in the near future. By the way, those apple's IEM that come with Ipod and so on, are they got bass or those neutral? QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Oct 18 2010, 08:04 PM) I have no experience with any apple products, but from what most are saying, they're below average(just as with most bundled earphones are). I see. Thank you very much for the asnwer. Jaben sells the EB at 190 if I'm not mistaken. But you might want to try it yourself, the EB needs to be inserted quite deep into you ears for best effect, so you might not find it comfortable. For me I didn't mind as I have pretty big ear holes. I don't recommend doing what I do.......biting the bullet most of the time. QUOTE(DaEMoNteNTAcLe @ Oct 18 2010, 08:16 PM) i manage to prove apple ibuds (rm90?) to perform marginally below hippo groove (rm59) I see. Thank you very much for the answer too ^^shroom EB is one of the most sensible cant go wrong choices, it doesnt really have much to fault, and does a lot of things well. Oh ya, if i encounter any problem with Hippo's IEM, is it easy to find any centre to repair it? And will the repair cost a boom? This post has been edited by Eguy1314: Oct 18 2010, 09:03 PM |

QUOTE(DaEMoNteNTAcLe @ Oct 18 2010, 11:51 PM) How much is it. QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Oct 18 2010, 11:58 PM) Balance is having everything pretty much equally. Not too much of everything. Balanced and neutral is closely related but not necessarily equal. Neutral usually means having just enough bass and sometimes cold sound. Balanced can mean having a warm sound yet able to hear everything. Just an example. Or vice versa. I see >.< As usual , my budget is rm 120, however will try to increase my budget by more saving >.< May i know which balanced IEM is the value for money |
