Ya, for example if I am in homescreen number 7, after i exited programs using the back button.
It just feels more ergonomic to move back to homescreen 1, by continuing to press/long press the back button, instead of moving my thumb over to the home button.

It's just a matter of preference, cause long press the back doesn't really have any use at the moment.

I can't get ES file manager to grant me root access. :s
The /system folder, all the front lose their first letter. So I can't even open default.prop

Okay, nvm, I am on JG8 and someone reported not working.

don't unrar it. That is the firmware already.
If you unzip and don't find the 3 files to put in PDA, modem,csc.
Then only put the main zip/rar file in PDA.

guy i use this method to root my device, after i select applu:/sdcard/update.zip but return msg show, files not found ....
any issue ??

1.Copy the CustomROM file to the "/sdcard/" folder on the phone and (if not already the case) rename to "update.zip"
2.Restart in Recovery Mode by pressing an holding VolumeUP+Home+Power.
3.Wait for the recovery screen en select "apply: /sdcard/update.zip"
4.Wait for it to finish and reboot.
*
Custom rom?
Just go and download the update.zip itself from post 2.
And do the same steps you did.

It is NOT claim warranty. It is called DOA in tech sales/svs circles.
Don't mix it up, people will get it wrong and will refer you to the wrong places.

The trial version is actually
Pay -> trial -> satisfied/unsatisfied -> activate / refund

You don't get to try before you pay.

Otherwise i think it's pirated dl.

They have not enabled high mem in all those beta versions yet. It still only shows 326mb of ram or thereabouts.

isnt it due to the system allocated amount of RAM? it is auto reserved for the system.. correct me if im wrong, i read bout this on XDA desire page months back
*
Nope, not that I know off, and using android system info and such shows that the RAM allocated to system is taken off the 326mb.

Does anyone here know a backup apps that will do complete backup including data and apps for an unrooted phone?
*
No, rooted phones only.

But for unrooted phones, there's always pen and paper.

Following the bracket things wasn't easy to do the superuser upgrade.
I redid it a bit so anyone who wants to use it just follow exactly

$ su
# mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
# rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
# pm uninstall com.noshufou.android.su
# mount -o remount,ro /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

There may be a chance that after # rm /system/app/Superuser.apk , the # sign does not turn up. doesn't matter, just continue.

After # pm uninstall com.noshufou.android.su -> you will see the word 'success'
Next line for me no # again, just enter the last line and exit terminal. Then go and download the new superuser app from market.
Works for me. Cheers.

BIS = blackberry internet service.
Change the plan, BIS is for blackberry, so the phone can log on to bb servers.

Curvefish works better.

However, I found the best is switchpro from paid market.
