Wasn't the mimocan lagfix a custom kernel for the SGS, supporting mounting of an external ext3 or ext4 partition on the micro-SD card? If I remember correctly, I applied this last time via the update.zip method (in recovery mode). Now not using any lagfix, so my memory could be hazy.

anyone know? if i didnt pay the terminate cost, can they do anything to me?

Maybe Maxis should consider throttling data speeds once a subscriber reaches his/her monthly quota. From 3.5G down to GPRS speed.

Could be.. Also, a friend of mine just enjoyed her first RM1800 plus Celcom bill, because she went to Vietnam for a vacation and happily used her phone as a modem while roaming, assuming that Celcom would notify her or cap her data access.

Celcom did notify her, though, right after she arrived back in Penang - her line immediately got barred after an SMS from Celcom. Very inconvenient..

No way of knowing?? No offence to you, but sorry can't buy that. The biggest telco in Malaysia employing tons of qualified engineers can't know how much data their customers use at any one time? We are not talking about a new technology where we can excuse some teething problems but this kind of complains has been going on for at least a couple of years already. If Digi and Celcom both can do it, what kind of excuse Maxis has?

Even with digi prepaid, all you have to do is key in a USSD code and you can even get your daily usage up to that point.

This is real fun in changing the PDA, MODEM and CSC of which applying each of them from different region. I know CSC doesnt really matter, cos it is just the country specific code.

Will frequent change of the FW cause any problem to the fon? 

I did. Widgets are simple, but good enough for me. I'm using the Messaging, People, Calendar and Bookmarks widgets on 4 screens - each widget maximised to full screen.

Just bought my precious, precious SGS less than a week back.
I upgrade my Firmware to Froyo 2.2 and already rooted my phone - Last night.

Problems
1. Android market lags, and for some reason, the screen go blank just before u can install programs from the Market, so to proceed i have to press the power key everytime .... and i mean everytime.

2. Android market (again) and won't show some of the program i had installed previous to the new Froyo. eg - netscource, masjidnow, etc
- from the reading i find out that with froyo i cannot install "protected programs.

3. After the Froyo upgrade, everytime i start the phone, the TTS will say "New Message arrived" but no message whatsoever.

4. My phone cannot get to connect to 3g/HSDPA

That's for my problems for now, will be back if i find anymore problems

1. All-I-need programs for my SGS with Froyo - rooted.

Finally finished reading/browsing the whole thread. Takes a week . Anyway i've got two questions.

1. I don't think i'll ever root my hp. Not that adventurous. But i want to get paid apps. Is there any where? Eg. direct from developer sites or from appbrain?

2. Why do we need such high end micro sds? My class 2 sandisk seems to be fast enough.

I am using stock firmware atm. Seems that I hardly get email push to my SGS (gmail is working fine) for my corporate email. Setting everything is ok, whenever i need to check email, i have to open up my email apps only it will load up the emails. Plus, the FB apps izzit only notify me on msg, invitation, f-request only? how about comments on wall post and etc?
