As follow back experience leave by practitioner, there is no proper word
to describe this. The nearest info you could found is The Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch 《六祖大師法寶壇經》

i didn't say it has a simple answer, the question is as simple as how do you feel when you had eaten chilli.

In our daily life, we experience ups and downs. At a very bad day, things could make us upset, angry, depressed, worry, etc. The mental reaction to our surrounding would be negative at times, *but not all the time.

Now just imagine, that these negative mental states will never arise in the mind again. Happy , relief, gladness, calm - I would imagine so. Nothing will upset you anymore, nothing worries you, nothing troubles you.

actually enlightenment can not be explain, only can be attained ...
eg like eat chilli, A like to eat chilli, he can eat 20 chilli n tarak rasa but B dont like chilli, B eat 2 chilli also started to cry ...
so if B tell A, chilli is the worst food on earth, what A will think ?
again if A tell B, chilli is the best food on earth, so what B will think ?
from here u can see both of them have different perception about chilli ....
if somebody explain enlightenment to u, he need to attained enlightenment first ... (eat chilli first)
and u need to be enlightenment too, to understand enlightenment ....(both also have eat the same chilli)
to totally understand enlightenment u need to understand sunyata/emptiness first ....
cos sunyata explain including the past, present n future (time) ...

even shakyamuni buddha time, not all his disciple attained enlightenment or arhatship
the only way to attain enlightenment is by meditation ...

PETALING JAYA: A gathering in Kuala Lumpur featuring a so-called "Buddhist Master" who is based in Australia has drawn flak from local Buddhist groups.

Nine Malaysian Buddhist groups and associations came together to issue a statement to advise the public to examine the controversies surrounding the teachings by Lu Jun Hong.

"The spiritual teachings advocated by Lu contain many interpretations that go against Buddhism.

"Buddhist teachings emphasis on educating devotees to realise the true reality of the universe and human life. In no way, Buddhism encourages greed and attachment to worldly pleasures.

"Lu is against universal transference of merits, thereby disregarding the main objectives of compassion and wisdom advocated by Buddhism," they said in a statement.

It added that Lu's teachings, the "Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door" is not recognised by the Chinese government and the Buddhist Association of China had also issued a statement requesting Buddhists to boycott the teaching.

A similar statement was released by Buddhist associations here in 2014.

"Lu claims to have the ability to interpret the significance of dream, totems and adjust feng shui and claims to be able to converse with Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (the Goddess of Mercy). Some even regard him as an incarnation of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.

"Interpretation of totems does not exist in Buddhist sutras and texts and Buddhism emphasises on following the Dharma, not individuals," they said.

They also said that the practice of promoting a cult of personality is not a Buddhist practice.

"There has never been a high monk or learned Buddhist propagator who publicly self-proclaims to be the incarnation or spokesperson of a certain Bodhisattva," it said, adding that most of Lu's followers who are in Malaysia to attend the gathering are from other countries.

The gathering is scheduled to be held on Sunday (Dec 30) at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

so can u give me an example which "way" no need to meditate n can attained enlightenment ??

now in malaysia datukship no value already, aged 20 n ah long also can get datuk title ...
buddhism dont have those fung shui or those whatever reading la, buddhism base on karma ma ...u reap, what u sow...
and actually chanting also see what u chant la ...
chant sutra for wisdom, chant mantra for "u to use", chant buddha name is to make a connection with buddha la ...
but overall, chanting is more for good merit n cannot attained enlightenment by chanting ...

actually the amitabha buddha chanting is mahayana practice, reason is, now is dharma ending period, so learning buddhism is difficult ...
so they vow to reincarnate in amitabha pureland n to continue practice from there ....
in pureland, u will wrap inside the lotus flower, karma cannot kacau u, so u can practice easily la ..
total got 9 lotus, depend on your "kung fu", if beginner then u start from the first lowest lotus flower, each upgrade only 1 day, so total 9 days..
but 1 day in pureland = our time is 1 big kapla ...if u reach the highest level mean u reach arhatship deswai they say "flower open see buddha"
so chanting amitabha buddha name actually is making a connection with amitabha buddha .... cannot attained enlightenment ...

even i learn mahayana, but i dont really believe n agree with them ...
cos i got many question they cannot answer but i also cannot prove anything, we just normal layman ma ...
so just learn those u think is good n u really understand since buddhism is so big subject ..

but to be born in pureland is not so easy like those fatt si say, like just chant amitabha everyday will do ...
if u read the sutra, the sutra say must chant until enter samadhi state leh ...1 day, 2 day until 7 day in samadhi state ...
so next time u ask the fatt si, how u can chant n reach samadhi state for 7 days

Not all techniques can get into Jhanas. Some can reach access concentration. Depends on what the person wants, his existing past cultivation, his inclination, the teachers he met with, etc.

To reach enlightenment, one needs to meditate.

There are those who can be enlightened (stream enterer) by just hearing a very short discourse from the Buddha directly, but those individuals no longer exist in the world today.

Those who remains today are of 2 types
- those who need to practice meditation from 7 days to many years to reach at least the lowest state
- those who cannot attain enlightenment in this life.

dude, if you have time, please go try for at least 3 months of your life for meditation retreat.

Don't let the opportunity passed away like that as human. We never know when we will become human again, or whether the Dhamma and the meditation techniques will still be around after this.

actually chanting n meditation is different .... chanting is concentration, meditation is stillness of mind ....
if u chant amitabha buddha name as meditation, actually u r make a connection with amitabha buddha ...
if u can chant until your mind empty just only amitabha buddha name ....
then u have a fiber optic direct line to buddha pureland, no interruption, crystal clear sound
then your chances to born to pureland is very high la ...

actually those success story in utube not really sure...maybe real maybe fake or cari makan one, dont know la ....
but one thing for sure, U MUST DO IT YOURSELVES ....u headache, i eat panadol, will your headache go away ??

actually i want also but really no time or when want to do sure got problem arise ... maybe karma not good, many obstacle

Try our best. Me also got financial obstacles, but hopefully can settle soon.

I was told, should try before getting too old as the body will become a bit problematic at that time and we will have new "obstacles" to deal with then such as health issue, family health problems, etc.

actually few years ago got chance can do retreat, i mean got time n very free....
but that time more play play only not really serious, now want to start but many problem
actually i feel la, just my pov.....after u learn buddhism more problem will arise ....
maybe u start to see differently then u found out, like this not right, like that also cannot ...
or maybe your "creditor" kacau kacau u, dont want u to runaway ...
