This is a very deep topic.

u also know deep leh  rolleyes.gif  ..... instead of me answer, then better i ask u back la .....

Ok,  I suppose we can discuss the theories. From what I understand so far,

Ultimate realities are

1. Ultimate materiality  (rupa)
2. Ultimate mentality (nama)

what have i understood about it is not important cos what i listen is just what i need to listen ... that all...

I don't know you le, for me listening not enough. Need to see it for yourself such things exist or not, otherwise how you know it's true?

QUOTE
the reason i post the video is bcos i dont see people talk about consciousness in this forum ...

most people here like to talk about karma karma karma ...
but without knowing the 8th(alaya) consciousness, how can u fully understand karma ??
That's because most of us know the theory only, so cannot really talk from personal experience but merely quoting the experience of others lor. Very paiseh and dangerous to say the wrong thing.. i also not expert, but theory i know a bit bit lar

actually everybody have their own way of learning, some easy way, some learn from the hard way .....
this is all depend on their karma as well ....
buddha always say u must plant the wholesome seed to have a wholesome reward ... law of causality ..
if u wanna learn certain sutra, actually u can chant the sutra everyday ....
actually in this world no body can teach us the perfect dharma except buddha himself ... cos he is an enlightenment being ...
and we live in the time without buddha, so we must depend on ourself ...
chanting sutra, beside u can get merit actually u also planting the wholesome seed in your 8th consciousness ....
hopefully when the next buddha come we can be there ....

Inspired Utterance [after] Self-Awakening

I wandered [through] many births in samsara,
searching for the house builder (craving)
[but] found [him] not;
repeated birth is suffering.

O, house-builder! You are seen
You shall not build a house again.
All your rafters are broken.
Your ridge-pole is shattered.
My mind has attained the unconditioned,
obtaining the destruction of craving.

actually 4 face buddha is not buddha, is a hindu brahman god but he is very powerful .... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phra_Phrom
you can pray to any god u like ... but in buddhism, buddhist dont pray to any god, even buddha ...
but u do see monk that pray but actually is more like respect to god/buddha ...
cos most people pray bcos they got something to ask for ....
so u must understand, what is pray n what is respect, cos both bodily action is the same .... tongue.gif

Hi friend,

四面佛 refers to Brahma, but the word 佛 gives an impression that it's a Buddha. A mistranslation in my opinion.

Brahmas are a collective term used for beings that live beyond the sensual spheres, also known as 梵天. They live for Aeons (world-cycles) . It is a very peaceful place.

Brahmas are always depicted as "four face" in Buddhist arts , that is because of the purity of their mind, which always dwell in the 4 sublime states.

1. Metta - Loving-kindness
2. Karuna - compassion
3. Mudita - sympathetic joy
4. Upekha - equanimity

I think you are talking about the great marks the Buddha possess smile.gif

The buddhist artists always paint the Brahmas 梵天 as "four-face", to highlight their difference from Devas. So if you go to Thailand, Burma or any temples, and if you see pictures of gods painted with 4 face, you will know it refers to Brahmas梵天.

32 lakshanas is a mark of a supreme being bcos of their compassion heart n extensive merit they have collected...
all buddha have 32 lakshanas, but having 32 lakshanas doesnt mean you are a buddha ....
just like face reading....if u have one of the 32 lakshanas mark, u will be a king/great man in your time ....
deswai some brahmas n dewa/dewi have it...

Pictures mah, cannot expect buddhist artists to paint all the 32 marks on the gods tongue.gif

They simplify it by painting devas as 1 face, brahmas 4 face, both with auras.
