nah... no need to sell em, just remove his NN, which I'm planing to do later today.  whistling.gif With the help of jerseyman's "stain" removal guide. Luckily the Champion's league NN is still the same for 2008/09. Gonna put Scholesy's NN - a real United legend.
*
You can try removing it but there is a possibility that there will be glue stains left after removing it....

Last time there was EPL patches that was PU.. it was made by Metro Sports UK..

But then the PU type was a bit different...

Hard to tell if they exist any official PU type EPL patches back then.. Maybe there were.. but I've never remembered seeing them..

How To Use Proper Glue To Fix Your Jersey

OK... Previously I know there are many people asking me in the forum or elsewhere on how to glue back any peeled off parts from your jersey. Say for example, this common issue with the Man United 2007/2009 Home jersey:

user posted image
A common problem with the Man United 07/09 Home Jersey... The White stripe on the back (near the collars) that peels off easily

Of course, you can try re-ironing back the white stripe (flip the jersey inside out, iron press beneath the white stripe) but it sometimes doesn't work because the original glue beneath it has totally gone.. So the solution should be straight forward right? Apply glue.. Now the issue here is.. not on how do we apply the glue but what kind of glue is suitable to be used to fix it.

Answer is... To look for Plastic and Rubber Adhesive Glue... or.. Polyurethene (PU) glue. A glue that is made using the same material which is PU itself.. Surely it won't be dangerous and harmful (since using Superglue or 'Gam Gajah' can cause the white stripe or PU material collateral damage since it is acidic)... I later found this glue at a stationary shop in Shah Alam (Seksyen 2):

user posted image
WESSBOND Plastic Rubber & Shoe Adhesive & a brush to be used later

user posted image
WESSBOND Plastic Rubber & Shoe Adhesive

user posted image
The glue costs RM3.90 only

user posted image
Features of the glue...

user posted image
It states that it can be used to bond PU leather....so it's useful for PU type materials on the jersey

user posted image
Useful because it is waterproof, heat & weather resistant and it is clearly meant as a polyurethane (PU) glue.. also
it clearly states... "DO-IT-YOURSELF" repair jobs.. which is what I like

So this is the glue that I will use as my experiment to fix the white stripe on the back of my 2007-2009 Man United home jersey. So what I did was I put some of the glue onto a piece of paper (in this case, the cardboard paper from the glue's packaging):

user posted image

Then, using a brush that I bought, I took some of the glue from the cardboard paper:

user posted image

Then i carefully swabbed the glue using the brush beneath the white stripe.. Sorry I forgot to take photos during this procedure..but I think you get the idea.

Then I placed a paper on top of the area where I placed glue.. and then stacked a big heavy book on top of the paper (to press and bond the glue that was just applied). I then leave it for 10 minutes. Again.. I forgot to take photos.. sorry.

To be continued..

Continued..

Here is the result:

I then leave it for 1 day so that the glue is 100% bonded and dried. The next day I washed the jersey and tested to see if the glue was still strong and intact. The results were positive. It bonded well.. and when I tested the strength by touch and by doing this:

user posted image

The PU stripe is confirmed to be bonded very well.. Yippeee!

Previously I tried using super glue or gam gajah. It failed.. why? It caused the white stripe to melt.. because the glue is acidic. Of course you can use it to bond velvet/felt or lextra materials (namesets/badges) but it will cause the surface of the jersey to be stiff hard like plastic, no thanks to the glue. But the usage of the WESSBOND glue not only doesn't ruin or melt the PU stripe, but also it doesn't make the jersey's surface become stiff or hard.. you can bend it like what is seen in the photo above.

Although this glue was meant for bonding PU materials, I believe that it can also be used to bond velvet/felt or lextra materials as well for your jersey. Haven't tested it yet, will update this guide later if nature calls... but my initial suspect is that it will...

Now.. another useful DIY that this glue can help.. is to prevent your old retro jerseys's foam embossed sponsors/materials to peel off.

I used to own a retro man united adidas 90-92 home shirt. I rarely wore it and left it hanging in my room. To my horror I found my retro shirt's foam embossed SHARP sponsors being dirty and effected with stains looking like... fungus!

user posted image

From the photos.. you can see that not only it turns up with some strange brown stains (fungus) but also some of the letters (R and P) has cracks on the edges and might possibly be peeled off later..

Now... I have to fix 2 things here.. How to remove the dirty stains and how to safeguard and protect my jersey's SHARP sponsors from peeling off later.

First problem was solved thanks to my favourite detergent... Vanish Power O2:

user posted image
My savour for the day.. Vanish Power O2

Next, I soaked my shirt (only the part where the sponsors were), put in warm water and poured some Vanish Power O2 detergent in it.. later some foam and white bubbles will appear.. which is when the detergent is doing what it is suppose to do:

user posted image
Soaking the shirt into the Vanish Power O2 detergent.. and you can see my favourite plastic brush on the top (inside the photo)

I leave the shirt being soaked for 1-2 hours.. longer better..

Then I rinsed with water and brushed using my plastic brush.. I finally managed to brush off all the dirty stains:

Now.. although the SHARP sponsors are cleaned.. I am worried looking that the cracked around the letters:

user posted image

So I need to put some glue beneath the sponsors to ensure that it is bonded better and hope that the sponsors won't come off easily.. so what I did was I used the WESSBOND glue to ensure that...

First, after I washed the jersey previously, I spin dried it and flip the jersey inside out. I then iron press it to ensure that it is dried and bonded:

user posted image

Then.. I used the WESSBOND glue that I bought earlier... used a brush and put some of the glue at the areas where the SHARP sponsors are:

user posted image

user posted image

Luckily I was good in arts during my school days.. so it wasn't a problem..

user posted image
The first letter that I successfully re-applied glue with...

Finally... I've covered all areas:

user posted image

Leave it to dry for few days.. Today, I'm pretty confident that the delicate SHARP sponsors on my retro man united shirt will not peel off easily... .at least.

So anyway, if you want to use glue to fix your jersey... to glue your peeled off white PU stripe on the Man United shirt.. or other materials such as the nameset or badge... Look for a glue that is similar to the one I got here....

Hope it helps!

To me, it does not matter whether if it's the logo or the flag, but the kit itself i.e. your allegiance to the country.  I believe I've brought this up before, by saying that it's really shambolic to think that Malaysian supporters can spend up to hundreds and thousands of RM to buy kits of their favourite football clubs and countries, but not Malaysian state kits and country kits.  Absolutely shameful.

My only problem.... as aw13 himself knows very well......... is to get an XXXL or XXL that fits me... that's all..

Or else.. will sapu one..

Hi......I bought this jersey last week. After I got home, I noticed on its tag that the NIKE FIT DRY wording is a bit peeled off. Which step is better to make it sticks again? Iron behind the tag or just apply glue?

user posted image
*
What you meant tag is sizing info near the collars right?

To be honest, the NIKE FIT DRY wording shouldn't be a concern because it's hidden... inside the jersey when you're wearing it. But if you want to fix it, there are 2 ways.

1. Terbalikkan the jersey and iron press beneath it
2. Cover the sizing info near the collars with a plain cloth and iron on top of it.

Very easy to fix.

Actually XL is 44-46, XXL is 48-50.

To be honest, 44 falls in between L and XL. If you wear L and L is a bit baggy for you then opt for 42. Else go for 44.

Jerseyman's Review: 2011-2013 England Home Jersey

The title suggests that the jersey will be worn from 2011 till 2013.. I just followed blatantly from what was said in footballshirtculture.com regarding the new England kit (http://www.footballshirtculture.com/11/12-kits/england-11-13-umbro-home-kit-update.html). but wait a sec... it was available in 2010. And fresh after England's awful performance in World Cup 2010.............

Nevermind.

Anyway here's the promo of the new england home kit that was launched too early for most people's liking (maybe to ease the pain of seeing England in the world cup):

user posted image
England's new 2011-2013 Home Kit... launched and available in 2010

So I grabbed one from kitbag using the free hero printing and added ROONEY 10 (bad timing).. So my item arrived safely at my house:

I like the new england home jersey's collar design.. rugby like design.... and there is something new about this jersey....

The England FA with the 1 star crest..

For the first time... the star above the England FA crest is not embroidered, but felt printed

The 1 star (as a mark of respect to the 1966 World Cup Heroes) is not embroidered but instead felt printed...

Now... even before I bought this shirt... there is one thing that annoys me the most...

user posted image
This is the part that annoyed me the most.. The multi coloured St George patterns on the upper part of the jersey

Yes, I know this is the brainchild of a designer called Peter Saville.. Yes I know what the concept was (multiculturalism).. But the idea doesn't work to me. Why?

user posted image
Why does it annoy me (the St George Pattern)? See the similarity?

Sorry but I rather prefer a clean pattern.. not this one.

What I like about the namesets used for this jersey (2 toned blue coloured).. is that it reminds me of the England's Euro 96 Home Shirt..

The back number.. Reminiscences of England's 2 toned blue nameset and numbering used in England's Euro 96 Home Shirt

ROONEY printed on top of that annoying part of the jersey...

Another thing that I like and was relieved was that the sleeves were no longer 100% spandex like England's away shirt used during World Cup 2010. Not only did umbro made the sleeves similar like England's previous home kit (2008-2010) where the spandex area was on the bottom of the sleeves, but there were some strategic areas where the spandex material was stitched too.. near the shoulders.. running from the shoulders down to the sides:

user posted image
The sleeves are no longer 100% spandex (like the England World Cup 2010 away).. But it's placed nicely below the sleeves and on the side near the shoulders..

user posted image
The sides of the jersey has the same spandex material... improves stretchiness..

user posted image
The spandex layer beneath the sleeves...

user posted image
The middle part of the chest (collars) too uses the same spandex material..

Inside the jersey.. at the washing tag:

a. What Jerseyman Likes:

a. What Jerseyman Dislikes:
user posted image That St George patterns on the top of the shirt... good concept but is not suited for this

Design: user posted image (If only that they didn't buy Peter Saville's idea)
Material: user posted image (Very nice.. old skool.. comfy, the spandex material was placed correctly this time)
Cutting: user posted image (Thanks to the sides that uses the spandex material..it won't be that tight)

What is a 'Drop Down' or 'Kick Off' Version Football Jersey?

OK... I think I will again explain about what is Nike's Kick Off jersey to newbies and other members. In the future, they can refer the same info again in the first page of this thread...

Before I continue to explain... let's understand that there are 3 categories of authentic football jerseys (not to include the 'bootleg' or fake jersey):

1. Player issue jerseys - Jerseys that are specified and produced for players to be worn on the field. They have some unique features that separate the ones sold at sports stores (known as replica jerseys)...

For nike jerseys: They have no washing tags inside but printed washing instructions, some have PU printed nike swoosh and club crest, heated bonded seams, no NikeFIT embroidery on the front (below) the jersey

For adidas jerseys: They have 'FORMOTION' printed instead of 'CLIMACOOL' on the front (below) the jersey and there is a new TECHFIT feature that is tight fitting, heated bonded seams, PU printed 3 stripes near the sleeves/shoulders

2. Replica version jerseys - Jerseys that are produced to be sold to public. It is almost 100% similar to the ones worn actually by the players on the pitch. These are the ones being sold massively at sports stores and online stores.

For nike jerseys: They have washing tags inside the jersey, NikeFIT stitched on the front (below) the jersey

For adidas jerseys: They have 'CLIMACOOL' printed on the front (below) the jersey

3. Drop down (kick off) jerseys - These are 'budget' wise jerseys made sometimes by nike or adidas meant for fans who want to support a certain team without the requirement to buy the official replica jersey.

Adidas sometimes produces the simple round collar jersey with 3 stripes on the sleeves and mimics the FA/club crest and design of the replica jersey.

Nike sometimes produces the kick off and drop down version of some teams but they are frequently available for certain teams such as FC Barcelona..

Adidas and nike sometimes produced some jerseys known as Kick Off jerseys. These kick off jerseys are meant for supporters or fans who want to buy authentic nike products or jerseys that mimics the replica jersey. It is almost 100% same but it has differences which differ from one to another. The kick off version might not have the same material used, different design of collars, no NikeFIT, etc etc.. And they are priced cheaper (RM149) and that is the purpose.. To be cheap and still authentic.

Malaysia last time had the kick off jersey. The home replica jersey vs the home kick off jersey.. Look at the photos below to see the differences:

user posted image
2009 Malaysian Home Replica Jersey

user posted image
2009 Malaysian Home Kick Off Jersey

Looks almost the same right? But price wise, different. The Malaysia kick off home jersey costs RM149 while the home replica costs RM259. Would you consider buying the kick off jersey if you got tight budget?

For the 2009-2010 season, United and Barca's home jersey has kick off versions being sold at al-ikhsan and nike boutique store. Here's a website selling the barcelona kick off version:

user posted image

Source: http://www.soccerbox.com/internationalteam...-off-shirt.html

Read what it says in the website above:

QUOTE
There are a few differences between the kick-off shirt and the replica home shirt.  The first is that the kick-off shirt is made from 100% polyester however it does not utilise Nike's unique FitDry technology, it is plain fabric.  The second is that the Barcelona club crest is printed on the shirt rather than the replica embroidered version.  Other than that the shirt has exactly the same features including an embroidered Nike logo on the chest and a printed Unicef sponsor.  The shirt is an official Nike product manufactured under licence for Barcelona FC and provides a budget alternative to the full replica shirt.  It makes a great gift and can be worn on the pitch, in the gym or at home.

The same Barca Home 09-10 kick off jersey shown above is also being sold at Al-Ikhsan and Nike Boutique stores.. It's Made in China, has the normal tag near the collars (not the PU printed like normal) and is RM149 as well....

Here's another kick off version for the Barcelona 2008-09 away jersey. Compare the photo of the Kick Off Jersey vs The Replica version:

user posted image

Kick off versions always has some differences between it and the replica version. Replica version also has differences between it and the player issue version.

You can compare them with the same replica jerseys from the same season (06-07). Anyway I remember the Man Utd, Arsenal and Inter ones were once sold at nike stores previously.. The black with the blue "v" stripe.
If I want to get the NN's and Champions patch ALI BB and R1 still has them?

I mean the NN size and font for last season and the current season is the same right ?
*
The NNs size and font for last season and the season before are the same with the current one. They've been using it for 3 season until today.

You can use the same nameset for the home jersey on the black away shirt.

But I'm not sure if Alikhsan and Real One still has them or not.

It is also Made in China. There's not much difference between the kick off version with the replica one. Except that it uses different material and there is no huge red cuffs near the end of the sleeves.

Basically the man utd kick off version has V neck and the white stripe near the sleeves is plain and empty:
