Im 167cm and 54kg. Went to a gym today and they told me im underweight n need to gain muscle. But i just wanna be 50 kg sad.gif should i gain muscle? Will i look bulky? Im a girl btw
*
definitely wont, do u know your body fat % now?
i rarely see any girl who heads to the gym is lean and bulky, can say almost none, mostly are just fat , sorry just to be direct here.

so i guess u shud be gaining some muscle while sheding some body fat, the figure on the scale is not important, only thing is the body fat % is important IMO
u can be 50kg @ 30-40% bf or 48kg @ 20-25% , it will make a very big differences in ur physical appearance.

LeanSupp! I need your advice here on gaining muscles! What kind of eating habit should I follow? Decided not to lose weight anymore. Concentrating on getting buff instead now. smile.gif

Should I get the whey protein and drink twice daily?
*
check your pm, i donwan flood this thread with unrelated topics.>.<

btw regarding your whey protein and drink twice daily,
it depends on the use and the timing when when to drink it.
for example, if u are planning to drink in between breakfast and lunch, use a protein blend instead of whey, it will be better,
and whey for post workout.=)

Hi y'all  smile.gif

Altho I'm 50kg at 164cm and my bf's 54kg at 165cm, he still looks much more slimmer than me!!!

Aaaghh... I really, really need to lose weight. I just went on a 22 hour fast yesterday and lost 1kg there. But I think I gained it all back today cuz I baked lotsa chocolate chip cookies today =( And who can resists home made chocolate chip cookies?? Gah!

My target weight (for now) is 48kg. 2kg!! Not much but it seems so difficult  cry.gif

I need to go for a jog later  sad.gif

Any suggestions on how to burn fat constantly and keep it off?
*
because naturally man are lower in body fat than female.
no use fasting girl, just use the traditional 500 cal below maintenance an u are fine,
weight doesn matter much what matter much is your body fat %

btw what is ur diet/ do u have exercise plan?

and, try incorporating a cup of green tea during ur lunch and dinner.works wonder

but im not skinny type sweat.gif my thighs quite fat yo, which makes me dislike to wear jeans sometimes. look so ulgly sad.gif
*
err, erm, hmm. fat deposition at various body parts is due to genetic and also hormones, some people have remarkable body fat distribution while some really have bad distribution.

i'll pm u and lets work it out from there kay? =)

hi all. what do you all comment on shaping machine like the ogawa ez thrive and the gintell iso melody thingy? am not a gym person but wanna get a leaner n shapier body in an "easy" way.

currently on a nutrien "shake" diet. seeing some gradual result and am planning for an "easy" low cost maintenance. seen those machines advertisements, so kinda curious if it works as am such a lazy bum. am watching out on my daily calorie intake but need to burn more in a stressfree way. . thank you!
*
what nutrien shake are u on? herbalife and those?geez.
those machine dont really helps actually, save some money by just hitting out at the gym

hi all,

I've lost about 20kg since I started my weight loss journey, but my fat percentage is still high. My diet is lots of fibre in the morning, normal nasi+lauk for lunch and just a small snack for dinner. I've been doing cardio (running most days) and some floor exercises to build muscle. But the fat is still high.. I'm considering fat burner powders.. will they do me any good?
*
what is important to lose fat is your diet, do u do resistance training? it might be due to ur low lean mass, that y u see urself are still in high bf % .
regarding fat burner, i do see some research supporting its results, but, just try the normal way until u really cant oni get urself a fat burner n such.

12% doesn't matter how tall you are.
*
definitely not 12%! around 18-24% would be good.

Aim for the achievable, then keep improving from there.  smile.gif

+1 i agree with this, it already hard for guys to hit 12%, and it is even HARDER for girls to hit 12%
for girls to hit 12% its like guys hitting 8%.

Hard but not impossible. I do have a training gf training very hard for the past 6 months, from 25% to 13%.

If that's what you want and you are determine enough. Yes, achievable. Depends on how much u want it.

Completely strict diet, under 50g carb and 100g on cheat day, high protein.
*
yes, it is not impossible,bt achieving is easier than maintaining the 12%.

btw, whats ur weight/height now?

QUOTE(peachmonkey @ Nov 20 2011, 07:53 PM)
So I've started my exercise/diet plan for about a week now. Seemed to loose some weight but not sure if its water loss or actual weight loss tongue.gif Physically seems the same though.

Anyway, I wanted to ask the sifu's here something.

Do I need to take those protein shakes before or after my workout? My current goal is to lose weight not to build muscle. But I've been reading that if you don't 'feed' the muscles after a workout the body will start burning them as fuel. Is that true?
My current exercise is some weight training followed by some light cardio (walking mostly coz I'm worried my heavy weight will damage my knees).

So now I'm wondering if I should be taking those protein shakes before or after my workout. And if I do, what type should I take? And what about this one product from GNC - Hydroxycut? Does it really help to lose weight?

Really appreciate the advice smile.gif
*
u r right, if u dunt feed the muscles enough, body will start to burn them as fuel. not actually feed the muscles, is just that when u are below ur calorie maintenance, ur body is struggling by doing what it can to make u alive.
anyways check ur pm.
