you can weight 40kg but ur fat is 25% bf.

there is no point at all lolz its still fugly to look at smile.gif no matter how light you are .

best measure is definition and veins. smile.gif

The general public is fixated on weight loss instead of fat loss because everyone thinks skipping a meal solves everything but nobody wants to exercise. sad.gif

hi guys..just wanna ask..

those who are muscle building...

1. do you guys take KFC?MCD?
2. Nandos and Kenny good for you guys?
3.all those rendangs,ayam goreng,ayam masak lemak,ayam sambal not good?
4.what kind of food that majorly consume by you guys?

thanks...sorry if wrong section.
*
1. Yup. Not adverse to either, provided you know what you're doing.
2. Definitely, especially love Nandos. Rather more expensive though.
3. Personally I'm not too fond of meat swimming in any form of gravy, especially spicy ones. I usually remove the skin for ayam goreng.
4. Most protein, any meals has to have a good source of protein for me. Definitely veg on the side for fiber and vits, and some carbs.

Hi all.

I'm looking for some advice in losing weight. I get confused when choosing what to eat and what type of exercise to do (cardio or weight training).

*
How can you get confused with exercise? Do both. Cardio and weight training.

QUOTE(peachmonkey @ Nov 14 2011, 09:36 PM)

I'm currently around 96kg (depending on what time of the day I step on the scale tongue.gif) and height around 167cm. I have quite a big frame as I used to do weight training some 3-4 years back. (Back than no specific routine). Than I stopped and my body just kinda expanded. As of now, I have not exercised regularly for quite some time.

*
Actually your skeletal frame doesn't change with weight training. Stopping will mean you lose the muscle. And lack of exercise means you gain fat. Fat gain has nothing to do with you previously working out. Muscle doesn't get replaced with fat.

My goal is to lose weight to benefit my health. Now find myself very 'large' and really not fit. In the same time if I can get a toned muscle look it would be an added bonus. But my short term goal is to get my weight back to the healthy zone.

I really appreciate advice on how to start (diet, exercise). I really want to feel fit and healthy again sad.gif
*
Just do your cardio and do your weight training.
Lots of posts on diet in this thread. Start reading.

For someone who didn't do any exercise for a long long time, what are the best ways to get back on track? Should I first build my stamina and endurance??
*
I know this is going to sound a bit of a smart@$$ comment, but it really is truth.

Get started.
Do anything. Cardio, weights, even walking up or down the stairs. The most important is getting started. Thinking stamina or strength at this point is overthinking it.

my bmi is 27, my body fat% 26 , , is this body fat is dangerous ? i mean if u burn fat, does it burn on the heart, kidney n others..ur heart is likely to have  fat at outside.. is it true? ..i dont understand why "this people" said like this..@@! mebe want me to buy their product i guess.. so in conclusion, to reduce body fat and get healthy body is to cardio only eh? .. =) thx
*
It's true to a point, that the focal point of the 'scare tactics' is to push the product.
Yes, they use visceral fat to scare you. And of course, the higher fat % you are, the higher your visceral fat.

And you really don't need 'products' to solve what is basicaly a lifestyle issue.

Change your lifestyle (Our PMs fav sentence when petrol price goes up). Forget about watching what you eat, start understanding what you eat. And of course, most importantly, exercise. Make time for exercise. If there's only 1 thing you can do, go exercise.

how do we differentiate water weight and fat weight??what could possibly cause water retention in a person that has a reduced salt intake and frequently eats mom's homecooked food?
*
Do excuse me, but water weight and fat weight differential? I mean, why would you want to know this and how does water retention affect your life?

water retention dont let u look ripped!! haha!

Exactly. And I don't think it's a competing bodybuilder asking.
For the average person on the street and weight loss, water retention shouldn't be an issue.

'Water retention' in fitness circles usually means the gaining of water weight. You might gain a kilo or two. And not have the dry and ripped look. If we're talking about Edema where the problem might be leaky capillaries or higher histamine release caused by the body not digesting certain food properly, I feed that this is a condition better addressed in another thread rather than a weight loss thread.

*
Your problem isn't the type of diet. It's the discipline to change your diet.

dear sifu
i am thin but tummy big

160 cm and 58kg

how to reduce the tummy?

i tried diet but in fact getting smaller arms n legs sad.gif

jogging too making arms legs skinnier

tummy still big

*
There is no spot reduction so just ab and waist exercise isn't going to result in much change.
You gun for fat reduction and yes, chances are your arms and legs are going to get skinnier. Your solution, hit the gym with a weight training workout. Pack on the muscle to compensate for shredding your belly.
