Hi guys, just got in to work (half day - got Unifi installed woop! woop!) and have been reading your posts about tonight's match.

I think since its a home game against a newly promoted team, SAF might want to start Berba and Owen (assuming Rooney is rested) simply to lead both pair into the new season. Chicharito and Macheda on the bench cocking it out of course. But it is most likely going to be like

Macheda = brows.gif (cocky git)

Chicharito = biggrin.gif (he always smiles, even in the team photo when the others looked like they haven't had breakfast)

Here's a betting guide to tonight's game smile.gif

Hi everyone, I see we (mostly) have thoroughly enjoyed the game this morning. Good to see the 3 points on the table eh? But to be fair a lot of the players looked a little tired from the internationals especially in the second half which might explain why the non internationals like Scholesy and Giggsy dominated the game. 3-0 scoreline is by no means an average result and I think despite the missed chances we should look at it and say it was a very good performance by our first team.

I don't think its fair to criticize any of the players after just one game so statements like "Rooney sucks" (blasphemy!) or "Berba was wasteful" can wait until after about 3-4 games imo. We know Wayne has these patches that he goes through that can last almost like forever before he starts banging in the goals 2 at a time biggrin.gif patience is the key here. Its good to know that we can rely on the midfielders and Berbatov to contribute to the goal tally in his absence (in spirit lol). Rooney is still unfit (65 - 75% based on last night?) in my opinion and his confidence is probably shattered after that terrible World Cup which I think stemmed from his injury and loss during the Bayern game last season. downhill from there. You can see how the team was pushing to get him a goal early second half. He'll be back, class is permanent.

Its interesting that SAF started O'Shea on the left wing instead of Rafael / Fabio and even though the tactic sort of caused Valencia to be isolated slightly up front on his own, I think it was done to counteract the height and strength advantage of Andy Carroll (sp.), Gutierrez and NU midfield. I think it worked quite well as AC only managed a couple of attempts on goal although that leap header was heart stopping fer a bit. biggrin.gif dug dug moments

Fulham now! Sheep! put Zamora in your sig quick! he must be stoppeth!

I think it should be called "get the yellow card out of the way" tackle.

Did you know that Zamora spelled backwards is "Amoraz"? sounds like a Perodua car.

Perodua Amoraz...

SHEEP WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT????

A well balanced team without any real primadonas (well maybe Kiko is exempted) lol. I like our team this season. Scholes looks really up for it and hopefully when he is needed Carrick can fill in his shoes. Ozil going to RM is a shame to be honest, I liked his pace and overall abilities - but as with most RM young signings, probably get traded off in a few years when they have another big 'revolution' party and buying Bebe at 90 million quids. Shame that, don't remember us having any German players biggrin.gif

Here's to another great season guys!

oh to those slagging off our players this early in the season after just one game, I think you'll be able to make a better judgement much later in the season when we can really assess the team. It's really unfair to say anything now, isn't it? Can't expect Nani and Valencia to dribble past defenders every single time they get the ball! this is not Winning Eleven!

Chicharito had that "give me your best shot" look on his face when answering those questions lol did you guys catch his "Dream boat" comment after his first pre-season goal? I had to suppress a giggle at the office

RVN is a goal machine!!!! man I miss that guy.. The most enthusiastic goal scorer who can score with every part of his body lol.. no tricks, just shins... biggrin.gif

Too bad he left to Real Madrid because he had a few years left of service in him at that time. Was really disapointed with that transfer, but I guess SAF already turned his attention towards the new no. 7.

How much have we earned in total from Becks, Heinze, RVN and Ronaldo leaving to Madrid in total?

Anderson needs to seriously drop a few pounds. He is suffering from the 'Brazillian' curse biggrin.gif

Which players would you let leave on loan and which ones would you keep? hypotheticaly
