Same principles as above

I'd say it is FASTER and easier you just copy your files to a thumb drive and then copy the files over plugging in the thumb drive on your Mac. It is " double copying" but is more reliable and efficient

Guys... I need help...
My MBP just hanged and I have no choice but to force it to shut down...
Now when I switch it on... It'll only show a blank white screen...
HELP!!

Try reboot your Mac with the original OS disk. Skip the install process, click on UTILITIES, Disk Utility at the very top menu.
Run the Verify and Repair process

Worst scenario - reinstall the OS if above cannot work
Delete your partition, create a new one, reboot the computer, and then install mac os. If still unable to boot, probably hard disk failure

If you are switching from windows : http://www.apple.com/support/switch101/

mac Basics : http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/

You are asking a general and vague question which there are too many answers. Why dont you read above links first and then asked the relevant question

i need some help on my mbp..i realise when i plug in my HDD, it detects but when i wanna transfer file,it couldnt transfer..i can transfer out from HDD but i wanna transfer IN cannot..

That is most probably because your HDD is using Windows NTFS format. The MAC can read and write to the normal Fat32 Windows format. Any FAT32 formatted hard drive is read/write possible by either Microsoft Windows or Mac OS X. But if you have formatted the HDD using Windows Vista/Windows 7 it is most probably formatted as NTFS

NTFS formatting overcome the limit of maximum file size of 4GB in writing files to any hard drive. However, while Mac OS X can read NTFS drive partitions, it cannot write to it.

So if this is so, your solution for Mac to read/write to a HDD is to have the HDD formatted as FAT32, which if you do that all your data in the HDD will be lost

However there is another solution for this issue : Use NTFS-3G for Mac OS X download it at : ( http://www.tuxera.com/mac/tuxerantfs_2010.10.dmg ) together with MacFuse ( http://code.google.com/p/macfuse/downloads...USE-2.0.3,2.dmg ) which will allow your Mac write to an NTFS formatted hard drive as well as read it

Please GOOGLE for these 2 software to understand how to use it

Like benny told you, ur HD must be NTFS. Just reformat to FAT32, prob solved.

With your HD connected to your Mac :

Open Finder . Right click the HD - select Get Info - you will see the actual format of your HD under the General tag

Yish.... Just came back from Machines... It's the hard disk problem... It is able to boot from the disk without the hard disk... Now got to find a way to fix this hard disk's problem
*
If is under warranty , why don't you just replace the hard disk. They will backup all your dta ( as much as they can salvage it). It will take about a week maximum if the service center has no HD on hand. If they have within 2-3 days maximum

I thought uninstall just drag to the rubish bin?

Unlike Windows-based systems, MAC OS does not come with an Add/Remove Programs feature that will help you uninstall programs on Mac. However, it is quite simple to uninstall applications on MAC OS; you just move the application to the trash bin. Doing this, however, does not completely take care of uninstalling programs on Mac.

To understand why, you need to know that programs on Mac computers are of two types; the bundled programs, which can be uninstalled just by moving them to the Trash bin, and the non-bundled programs, which can be uninstalled using the same method, but additional manual work is required to clean up after them. Many programs leave behind settings and other small files that continue to take up space on your hard drive. These must be cleared out as well to ensure that you efficiently uninstall programs on Mac.

Removing the program preferences, shortcuts, and support files that were installed along with the program is a manual process in your Mac. If you do not want to be bothered with all this, it is best to use third-party uninstaller tools to uninstall both the non-bundled programs on Mac and clear associated files from your hard disk at the same time. Some of these tools are easy to use and come with search features that let you view a list of programs from which you can select the ones you want to delete, similar to the Windows Add/Remove Programs tool. While considering third-party tools for this purpose, do a search for freeware and open source tools. Some of these tools achieve excellent results and help you uninstall programs on Mac without draining your wallet.

Here are some third-party uninstallers for your Mac, and their features:

AppCleaner Uninstaller Software (Freeware)

AppTrap Uninstaller Software (Open Source Freeware)

AppZapper Uninstaller Software (Not Freeware)

i have a little problem here. i am using mozilla firefox in my mbp. when i load a certain site with like...ten or more images, the site stopped loading(it loads until halfway then stop loading already and the pictures did not come out). Then, when I try to download something that ends with a .dmg and .zip and .rar(all direct links), the same thing happened. It loads halfway then the download dialogue didn't come out at all. What's the problem and how can I fix this?

You either reformat the Mac and reinstall OSX with the OSX DVDs that came with it or
just create a new user for you sis and remove your previous user. Just remember to specify that you want the files to be deleted when you remove the user.
*
And also remember to DEAUTHORIZE any i-devices you have associated with iTunes on the computer so that you have an extra unit to link with iTunes. This is not necessary if you do not need more than 5 computers connected with each i-Device

I have been a Mac user for about 4+ years now. I always say once you use a MAC , you will never want to touch a Windows OS anymore. I am so impressed with the MAC OSX, I have now for own use a iMAC, MB Pro and latest MBA. My son and daughter also "poison" by me and using MacBooks too. Can say I am a MacFan boy. However I am not impressed at all with the iPad and iphone - that's just me.

Just give you a straight simple answer why the Mac is better for me , not necessary for others:

- Hung/freeze issues in the OS ??? Rare - in the past 4+ years I can't even remember how many times such happen. Perhaps few times a year ? On the Windows, OMG I have lost count - I don't even want to think about it. Most WIN users will say freeze/hung/blue screen of death is a Windows signature. If it does not happen - something wrong !!

- Need not worry about virus infections. Till now never experienced any though it is said virus attacks on MAC will increased due to popularity of the OSX. Using the MAC, never even considered any AV software though is available

- Disk defragmentation; the OSX takes good care of it. If need just use the builtin utility and I rarely touch it, so rare that I don't even remember in 4 years how many times I did , perhaps less than 5 time and all the time I did it just for "fun" not that I faced any hard drive issues

In summary one word reliability and I must said though its specs does not look better than a lot of Windows OS machines , do not be deceived by just looking at specs. I always like to quote this , perhaps oversimplify the situation just to draw an analogy : the latest Volkswagen Golf 1400 cc ( about RM 160,000 ) power , acceleration, pickup can match if not even better than the last previous BMW 523i ( RTM 390,000 2500 cc 6 cylinder) ; the latest Mercedes E250 kompressor ( only 1800 cc ) outperform in most areas over its previous E240 ( 2600 cc ). So just looking at raw specs does not give one a true picture of expected performance
