i would just like to pint out that the WWE Bragging Rights PPV that Astro gave out for free, was also available for free on Skys Sports in the UK..so i dont think it was free because astro PQ was awful..it was maybe a pre-determined free PPV for contractual reasons

This is a normal thing now..any new astro subscriber will get the Byond set top box..however, if they do not ask or subscribe for the HD service, they wont get the HD features for example HD channels..and i think its the same for the audio issue..correct me if Im wrong..

or did they test it in an overseas country??

i dont know what is so great on RTM (TV1) to be viewed in HD..except for some football (which is already over) and maybe some Asian Games event (which we can see on Astro anyways)..RTM is full of political fights and bickering..i dont like in now in SD and i dont think seeing it in HD will make it more exciting..

well..it does not surprise me one bit..before this, it took a while after the launch of 8TV, ntv7, TV9 and others to come to astro..they didnt immediately come to air on astro..

and all this talk of petition and demonstration and so on..whats the use? we all know that this channel is being run under the PM Department authority..if they wanted it to be on Astro straight away, they would already put the plan into motion..so if the government say it wont be on Astro for now, then we Malaysians AS USUAL must accept and obey...

There are still 3 HD channels to be unveiled by astro before the end of the year..lets move on and turn our attention to that..any one have any news on any progress made by astro or by any network regarding this?

actually..it was not a YB that has still to receive the astro service help..its the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament.. for God's sake astro!!! in the parliament, when the YB fight like little kids, this guy will tell them to shut up or be suspended from Parliament..so YB and even the Prime Minster has to listen to this guy..in parliament only lah..but him complaining that astro has not come to repair his astro after 3 months of the report, it is a BIG EMBARRASSMENT for Astro..really it is..

I was actually waiting for a big name figure in the country to actually complain about Astro..my theory is that Astro is not only watched by normal people like us..but all the YB2, Ministers heck I even think the Prime Minister watches astro..or at least his family or grandchildren..so imagine them nagging to their grandpa coz astro no service during rain..cannot watch Upin and Ipin..

If these big name figures start complaining then there is a chance for astro to buck up really..I know people will say that astro has the full backing of the government..but actually who are those people in the government that back them..? I can assure u something..not everyone that sits in the parliament are backing astro..its those who have shares and interest to astro or its other interest that will always back up astro..its those YB that will lose millions if astro suffers that are backing astro till they die no matter what..only when they lose their shares or lose in general election will they also join us in protesting against astro..

heck..i wonder how T Ananda Krishnan feels when he is watching his favourite show and then suddenly it rains and he doesnt get reception? or his astro is struck by lightning? haha..sure he got a store full of backup..

should be done very quickly..just call them and ask but do note as u are only normal package u will only get the following channels:
